MOJO Monday Tuesday

Does that title make any sense?  If the challenge was called, say, the Popcorn Challenge, the title would be Popcorn Challenge Tuesday, but because the site is called Mojo Monday, I have to entitle my post MOJO Monday Tuesday.  See? ... Never mind!

Do you have cats!  I've had cats almost my whole life and for a majority of that time I've had two cats at once.  I love my cats, but they're not as simple as dogs.  They don't love you unconditionally.  They don't eat, bark, sleep and lick your face; they dine, meow, repose and allow you to pat them.  They don't have owners, they have staff.  And they have quirks!  Oh, do they ever!  One of my cats, Pickle, won't eat if there is no new food in her bowl since the last time.  It's stale!  But if I add three or four new pieces, she'll eat the rest quite happily.  And she'll enthusiastically drink from the algae-loaded fish pond, but refuses to drink tap water that has been sitting in her bowl.  If, however, we pour it from the Brita filter water jug, that's a different story!

The other cat, Beetle, has a thing about closed doors.  She'll sit before a closed door and meow piteously until we chase her away or open the door.  Never mind that it's a door leading to the washer and dryer, or a broom closet; if it's closed she wants to go in there.  But if you open the outside door, she'll sit there for ten minutes deciding if she wants to go out there or not.  Here's a cute cartoon that was posted on Facebook.  So true!

None of this has anything to do with my card, so let's press on!

I got into the Comfort Cafe DSP package, and I also used the Daydream Medallions set that I really haven't played with much since Convention.  I'm kind of liking this folksy style.  Here's the challenge sketch for MOJO Monday #259:

I used the colour palette of the DSP for this card:  Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla and there's a little Summer Starfruit on the DSP itself.  I embossed the back Very Vanilla panel and the front DSP panel with the Square Lattice Embossing folder and the Big Shot.  To die cut the Daydream Medallion shapes and the Midnight Muse flower at the back, I used the Floral Frames Framelits.  The sentiment from the Loving Thoughts set is stamped and sponged in Midnight Muse.  The flower is from the Lacy and Lovely set, stamped in Cajun Craze, while the leaves in Soft Suede are from the Stippled Blossoms set, both fussy cut.

A few homespun pearls to embellish, and it looks good enough for....um....a cat to lie on??  Oh, and that reminds me of something else my cat, Pickle, does.  Every night, while we sleep, she goes down and raids my craft room, bringing up a scrap of paper or ribbon to leave for me on my bed.  I never know what I'm going to find in the morning, or what else she did with it before putting it on our bed.  So far, though, she's never brought up a completed card or anything really important, except the spool of Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon she fetched upstairs last night.

She showed really good taste, and maybe she wanted in on the "Back to Spool" promotion from Stampin' Up:

Smart cat!  Are you smarter than Pickle?  Of course you are, so make sure you call me with that $50 or more order before the end of September!

  4. Hi Heather :) Such a pretty card. I love the colours. I love cats too. I had the same cat from when I was 5 through to 24. I haven't had one since as I discovered I was allergic! My cat liked to drink out of the spa. Maybe the chlorine was what kept her youthful for so long ;) Your cats are hilarious. I love that quirky stuff!
