Tags and Gift Card Holders for Technique Night

Today and Thursday are my last Technique Nights of the year 2013!  Where did the time go?  I had a request to make some Gift Card Holders and some tags.  I found some great techniques for making them and one was so cute I just cased it outright. (Thanks, Julie Davison!)  Here's what we're doing:

  •  The Santa Suit Gift Card Holder is the one I totally cased from Julie Davison.  It's made using the smallest size envelope that the envelope punch board will make.  You can see a video tutorial on how to make it here.
  • I've already featured the gift card holder in Coastal Cabana on a previous post.  It's made using the Pop 'n Cut Card base die and the Festive Flurry stamp set and framelits.
  • That leaves the two tags.
  • Using up my Christmas Designer Series paper is important right now!  This tag features the Season of Style DSP with the Merry Little Christmas stamp set.
  • I used the Envelope punch board to get the tag top.  Stay tuned for some punches that will do the same thing for you, coming in the Occasions catalogue, which many of you will be receiving soon in the mail, if you've purchased from me this past few months.
  • I've added some Cherry Cobbler Chevron ribbon and a Vintage Faceted Designer button with some Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine tied through it.
The other tag features some emboss resist:

  • I embossed some snowflakes from Festive Flurries and from Snow Day in white embossing powder on Whisper White cardstock.
  • I then sponged over them in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo! (Talk about your tropical holiday - that makes me want to go to Bermuda for the rest of this icy weather!)
  • I wiped the ink off the embossed snowflakes, then added some water marks by spraying the water mark stamp image from Gorgeous Grunge with some Stampin' Mist and then onto the already stamped paper.  You can see the kind of milky marks that left on the paper.
  • I punched a hole and added some Whisper White Organza Ribbon, and tied a bow.
  • The sentiment is from the Joy to the World stamp set, stamped in Stazon Jet Black.
If you were coming to my Technique Night class, you would get to make all four of these projects!  Make sure you sign up for January's Technique Night so you can make projects like these.

Did you order what you wanted from the Clearance Rack?  If not, I hope is isn't gone already.  I've heard of several sold out already.  I knew they would fly from the shelves.  Best to get your order in ASAP and take your chances!
