The Wilderness Awaits for The Paper Players

Well, I unpacked all my new Annual Catalogue goodies yesterday and I'm so thrilled with our new Designer Series Paper and Paper Stacks! In fact, I love everything that I ordered and now I want more, already!! I got a few stamp sets and most of the Designer Series Paper and the Tin of Cards (more on that later this week.) When I opened the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack, I knew I had to make a card with it right away! And because The Paper Players have a masculine card challenge on this week, I also put together my new stamp set, The Wilderness Awaits, and got busy!

Here's what I came up with:

  • The Designer Series Paper is from the Go Wild DSP Stack, which is going to be great for masculine cards, and African themed cards and just for taking advantage of the animal print decor trend these days! I love how these two prints are negative and positive versions of the same design! The new Designer Series Paper Stacks are now 6" x 6" which lets you orient a design in either direction!
  • Notice the corrugated paper! If you know me, you know how I love texture and this paper is a dream for that purpose! It comes in Kraft and White and the corrugations are very small, so it doesn't create too much height on your card. Also perfect for masculine cards!

  • I had a hard time deciding which image to use from The Wilderness Awaits stamp set. I stamped the dog, as you see here and the large stag (or is it an elk?), but the elk seemed to need a wilderness background to look good. I tried hand snipping him, but he still looked out of place. So I chose the dog, because I may give this one to my hubby, who loves dogs!
  • The sentiment is perfect for a guy, because they have a need to be admired and respected! I used the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits to die cut the sentiment and its black matte, but I used the framelit a second time on the sentiment to make it shorter. The dog was die cut using the Chalk Talk Framelits and a second one, in Basic Black cardstock was cut in half vertically and mounted a little offset on either end of the image panel.
