Roomie Gifts for Inspire. Create. Share. 2015 Using the Gift Bag Punch Board

One of the loveliest traditions of Stampin' Up! Conventions is the tradition of having little gifts for your hotel roommates. And being papercrafters, of course there is always a homemade papercrafted part to the roomie gifts. This year I had three roomie gifts to prepare and they were for good friends so I wanted to create something memorable for them. I got out my new Gift Bag Punch Board, and the In Colour Envelope Paper and  a new stamp with Stampin' Up!'s Statement of the Heart on it and got to work.

I bought lots of little things that might come in handy at Convention, such as safety pins, a lint roller, hem tape, a little book light and a pen ready to pack into these fancy bags when they were finished.

  • I found that the Gift Bag Punch Board was a little harder to use than the other punch boards at first, because the instructions are a bit more involved, but once I had done one, it was easy after that. I made the large size bag and you can go anywhere from 4" to 12" tall, but I chose 9" for my bags in order to fit in all the stuff I had. I used Fast Fuse Adhesive to assemble them and it is certainly strong enough to keep the bag together even with the weight of the items in the bag. One caution is to have a very light touch with the scoring tool, when you are using this paper or any DSP, so that you won't get the scores tearing opening.
  • I used a variety of stamp sets for all the labels on the the bags. I mentioned that I just got a stamp, only available to demonstrators, that has Stampin' Up!'s Statement of the Heart on it. I love this statement, because it is the essence of my business! I love to make a difference in people's lives and I think making time for creativity, whatever form it might take, does a world of good for people.
  • The other sets are Happy Birthday, Everyone and Groovy Love as well as the Rotary Alphabet stamp for the names.
  • I used three different framelit sets for the labels. The big ones are the Lots of Labels Framelits. The bottom sentiment is die cut using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits, and the tags at the top are from the Tags & Labels Framelits!
Although the Convention officially starts tomorrow, today we had a shopping day!! With great success, I might add!  Here we were, just getting started:

                                     Holly's awesome haircut!

Clarkes for shoes! (Husbands, you can start worrying anytime now!)

Holly in the corner because she tried to get to get one too many discounts!

The awesome salesperson, Nate, at Clarkes who managed to talk Terry and Holly into buying shoes when they didn't even intend to!

Terry is clearly up to no good, in an Italian restaurant!

Ending the evening with cannoli!

Tomorrow, we will get to see the unveiling of the 2015 Holiday Catalogue and I will be able to preorder some of the products to share with you when I get home! Stay tuned!
