The end of November is near and that means a couple of promotions from Stampin' Up! are also drawing to a close. The first is one that has been going all November - the Snowflake Showcase promotion!
I have to say that this suite of products has to be my favourite from all the limited time promotions Stampin' Up! has had over recent years and I believe that the stamp sets and especially the dies are well worth their cost. I know I'm going to continue to use mine over the year even though I won't be able to promote it in a business sense as after November 30, it will not be available for sale again!! - First I need to comment on the background. I made this using the same technique as I used for these cards. I used Shimmery White cardstock for this one. It's just a little more muted than if I had used Glossy White cardstock. The combination of reinkers that I used was Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Soft Sea Foam and Balmy Blue. I added the Balmy Blue at the end because it was looking more green than blue and that got the tone where I wanted it. I taped my cardstock to one of my extra Stamparatus plates, which works wonderfully for this - so easy to clean up after. I spritzed the paper liberally before adding drops from each reinker. It's so cool to watch the ink spread out on the wet surface!
- After letting it dry for awhile, I finished the drying process with the heat tool. and trimmed down the panel to the size that I wanted 3 3/4" wide x 5" tall.
- Then it was time for the Snowfall Thinlits Dies and the Sparkle Glimmer Paper. I backed the Glimmer Paper with a Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet first. This is where I really appreciate the new configuration of the Glimmer Paper. With it being thinner, it's so much easier to die cut, even with the adhesive sheet on. When possible I die cut from the back as that's the hardest layer to cut through.
- With the snowflake flourish and a selection of different snowflakes cut and ready to stick on, I got out my Snow is Glistening stamp set and stamped the sentiment in Balmy Blue. I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to die cut it and mount it on the card front with dimensionals.
