Using Memories & More Card Packs to Make Quick & Easy Cards

You probably know Memories & More Card Packs as Stampin' Up!'s Memory Keeping System - a pocket scrapbooking system that makes organizing and displaying your family's photos quick, easy and creative! But if you're like many of us, you never seem to get around to doing that and you may just give these card packs a hard pass. You may want to give that a second thought when you find out how they can make it so simple to create beautiful greeting cards in a flash!

I recently held a class doing just that, using both the Come Sail Away and the Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card Packs and I wanted to share with you just a few designs that I came up with using the cards and stickers from the Packs and coordinating products from the suites that they go with in the Annual Catalogue.

First, let's take a look at what you get in these card packs:

As you see you get a variety of 3" x 4"  and 4" x 6" cards with Images, patterns, journalling lines and sentiments, 4 sheets of stickers, and, in the Come Sail Away package, some laser cut sheets of  both sizes. In the Magnolia Lane, instead of laser cut sheets you get some Vellum patterned sheets in the larger size. So much variety.

Now let's see what I did with them:

First, I used some of the 3" x 4" image cards and some of the coordinating suite's DSP from Come Sail Away to make these cards:

  • I also used some of the coordinating trinkets, the coordinating stamp set and dies, the baker's twine from the suite and some of the stickers from the card pack to add detail.
  • I used Night of Navy and Seaside Spray cardstock to back the cards from the Pack.

  • For this set, I used some of our new 3D embossing folders to create a background, along with  the Glittered Organdy Ribbon in Basic Black. The 3" x 4" cards are more of a patterned type and they provide a backdrop for the sentiment which is from the coordinating stamp set, Good Morning Magnolia. It was die cut along with the backing using the Frosted Bouquet dies.
  • The two 3D embossing folders I used were Bricks & Mortar and Scripty.
  • One one design I added some Metallic Sequins, which are now retired.

  • For these two designs, I used a larger 4" x 6" card as the DSP in the background and a 3" x 4" card as a sentiment, adding some stickers and Braided Linen Trim bows and vellum sprigs using the sprig punch to give it some life!
  • The bottom of the larger card was trimmed to fit a regular sized card using the edge die from the Magnolia Memories die set.
Unfortunately, I just learned that both these packs are on backorder right now. The Magnolia Lane set will come in July 22, but the Come Sail Away won't be available until August 26th, which is quite a time from now. But you can keep these ideas in mind until their available.

Have a great weekend!
