Feels LIke Frost for Freshly Made Sketches

A super fast post today because I wanted to enter Freshly Made Sketches 400th Challenge Sketch at least once and I had this great idea inspired by the photography of Drew Doggett in Iceland. To do that I'm using the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper and then stamping, colouring with Stampin' Blends, fussy cutting and adding images from Leave a Little Sparkle Stamp Set.
First of all, congratulations to FMS on their 400th Challenge! That is a very impressive milestone to reach!

My design has loosely interpreted the sketch, so I hope it's okay for the challenge.

Icelandic Horses Photos by Drew Doggett

This is just a sample of the amazing photos of Drew Doggett that I was inspired by. Taken in Iceland, of the Icelandic ponies it does indeed remind me of something legends are made out of. There are many more gorgeous photos on the link I gave you so you should definitely go check them out.

And now here's my interpretation:

  • The Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP makes this easy, because it's so stunning all by itself, but when you take the unicorn image from Leave a Little Sparkle minus the unicorn horn, which is so simple to trim right off, you can almost recreate the feel of the Icelandic ponies!
  • I stamped the image in Memento ink and coloured using the Light Black Stampin' Blends marker and the Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends Combo (Light & Dark shades). This gives the impression of a white horse, if you leave lots of white as well.
  • The sentiment is embossed using Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder on a strip of the DSP, glued onto a strip of Balmy Blue cardstock and flagged on the left end.
  • Some Frosted Epoxy Droplets are added at the end. The sentiment is from the Band Together stamp set.

  1. Oh Heather! This card is breathtaking! I think you have done more than justice to your inspiration photos. This one is worthy of framing, let alone giving it away. Is it possible to send a link to the artist so they can enjoy this card that was inspired by their photos?
