Framed Scenes Bundle for As You See It Challenge #349

 I was kind of glad that this week's challenge was a Speed Challenge, because I'm having a week where time is at a premium! I'm doing a One Day Crop Fund Raiser on Saturday and I have so much to do to prepare for that, but it's also challenge week and my condo is having a Town Hall meeting to prepare for our AGM. Because I'm the Strata Council President, I had a lot to do to prepare for that as well. And there were more little details! Sometimes the perfect storm of circumstances creates the week from you know where! However, a Speed Challenge was welcome and here is the theme:

I looked over my watery stamps and decided to use one I hadn't tried yet and that's the Framed Scenes bundle. Two of the images have water features. Here is how it turned out:

  • I started with a Crumb Cake card base and added a layer of Everyday Happiness DSP. 
  • I stamped the stone bridge over a river scene in Memento ink, on Basic White cardstock and coloured the image in with Stampin' Blends Markers: Balmy Blue combo, Granny Apple Green combo, Crumb Cake combo and a little Pool Party light.
  • I die cut the scene out with the largest oval die.
  • I die cut an Early Espresso frame with the frame die and cut a rectangle to fit behind the frame from Cloud Cover. I embossed it with the Soft Waves 3D embossing folder and glued it behind the frame.  This was adhered to the card front. 
  • I adhered the oval with the coloured image to the center of the frame.
  • The sentiment, from the Sweet Blooms stamp set, was simply stamped on the DSP in Memento ink.
  • The whole card took me 9 min. 51 sec to complete, so as usual, I just squeaked under the 10 min. limit!

Florals in Bloom for As You See It Challenge #348

 As You See It Challenge #348 is a Theme Challenge entitled Spots or Stripes, designed by Team Member Jan C., and since two of my team mates already chose spots, I thought I had better choose Stripes for my design. I found some striped DSP in the Florals in Bloom Suite, and using products from that suite, let it take me from there! The Florals in Bloom Suite is one of the new suites in the new 2025/26 Annual Catalogue.

  • The base is Secret Sea, a new 2025 - 2027 In Colour and on that is a layer of the Florals in Bloom, 12" x 12" DSP in Cloud Cover, another of the new In Colours. 
  • The diagonal stripe is in Secret Sea and Cloud Cover as well.
  • The floral die cuts come from the Pretty Florals dies, all a part of this suite! I used Secret Sea, Cloud Cover and Darling Duckling cardstock for the florals.
  • The sentiment is die cut using the Sweet Blooms dies and Secret Sea and Darling Duckling cardstock.

Hearts and Hugs for As You See It Challenge #347

I just love doing Recipe challenges! They are so much fun! It's like a chopped challenge on a food network. Everyone has the same ingredients to work with, but the final products turn out differently for everyone! I had to rely on some retired products to complete my Recipe challenge this time, because I didn't have any new animal stamp sets. So I got out my Hearts & Hugs bundle which, as of writing this post, is still available on the Last Chance list. Here's the Challenge Banner:

Here's how I put all my elements together:

  • This is a gate fold card. I used a Crumb Cake card base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" on both ends of the long side to get the gate fold.
  • In about the middle of each "gate side" I added an 8" piece of Baker's Twine, glued down and covered with the additions below:
  • I covered the outside "gates" with Pretty Peacock cardstock cut at 1 7/8" x 5 1/4", then on top of that added some of the Perennial Lavender DSP (which is carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue, by the way) cut at 1 5/8" x 5". 
  • In the center of the card I added another piece of the Perennial Lavender DSP, with a gingham design, cut at 5 1/4" x 4".
  • I stamped the mouse and the hamster (?) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Basic White cardstock and coloured them in with Stampin' Blends Markers. I used Gray Granite, Copper Clay and Peach Pie, and Poppy Parade.
  • I die cut the images and mounted them with dimensionals on panels consisting of a Pretty Peacock backing and an embossed Basic White front. The die sets I used for these panels were Stylish Shapes and Unbounded Love. The embossing folders were Basics and Timber 3D EFs.
  • The sentiments were from the Hearts & Hugs stamp set again and they were stamped with the Memento ink on Basic White, and die cut and backed using the Stylish Shapes Banners. I had to adjust the length of the shortest one.
  • These were added to the card front and inside as shown.

That gave me all 5 elements: animals, colouring, die cuts, twine and texture or embossing.
