Beautifully Celebrated for As You See It Challenge #365

beautifully celebrated for aysi #365 1

Crazy busy and complicated week. My head is overwhelmed, both with things at home and things happening in the world. It's like someone turned the world upside down. So I don't have the bandwidth for a long blogpost today. But I wanted to bring you my card for the As You See It Challenge #365 Recipe Challenge, Rhapsody in Red, my own concoction!

Here's the banner:

And here's my card, incorporating all 5 elements of the recipe:

  • I started with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4 1/4".
  • I added a piece of retired DSP from the Bloom Impressions set that I got from last year's Sale-A-Bration.
  • I die cut 3 circles using the Spotlight on Nature dies: the first and third on vellum and the center one on using some leftover Ombre Specialty Glimmer paper in a similar hue.
  • I heat embossed the sentiment, from the new Beautifully Celebrated stamp set, in gold on Poppy Parade cardstock and fussy cut it out. I mounted on top of the circles with Stampin' Seal and Stampin' Dimensionals on the ends.
  • I finished by tying a double finger bow from Cherry Cobbler & Gold Satin Ribbon, and adding to the card front with a glue dot. I also added some clear Faceted Snowflakes.

Nature Walk Suite for As You See It Challenge #364

nature walk suite for aysi #364 1

Happy New Year and welcome back to more As You See It Challenges. We're excited to fill your 2026 with creative and interesting papercrafting challenges. Our first one, Challenge #364, is a Fill In the Blank challenge thought up by team member, Deborah! Here's the banner:

challenge #364

Well, my latest craft purchase is from the new January/April Mini Catalogue and it's called the Nature Walk Suite of products, which includes stamps, coordinating dies, DSP and Specialty paper, ribbon and embellishments. It was the colours and versatility of the suite that drew me to it, lots of great texture and distressed elements! Take a good look at my greeting card again:

I filled in the blank with "Nature Walk Suite of products", a new collection including DSP, Specialty Paper, stamps and coordinating dies, ribbon and embellishments. I purchased it for its elements of beautiful blues and greens, texture everywhere, nature elements, masculine embellishments, and potential for vintage creations. Take a look at the illustration below:

Here's how I made the card:

  • I used a card base of Mossy Meadow, 5 1/2" x 11", score at 4 1/4".
  • On that, I adhered a piece of Nature Walk DSP, 5 1/4" x 4".
  • I added another piece of the script design of the DSP, 2 1/2" x 4" to the card front.
  • I used a 3" x 3 1/2" piece of Natural Hues Textured Specialty Paper, which reminds me of the weight and texture of the paper we used to come up with when we home made paper with a blender.
  • I first carefully ripped it down one side, then embossed it with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folded.
  • Lastly, before mounting it on the card front, I used Pecan Pie ink and a small blending brush to add ink to the raised areas and the edges to enhance the distressed look.
  • I stamped the foliage and the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on Very Vanilla cardstock using the images from the Nature's Symphony stamp set.
  • I die cut the foliage with the coordinating Nature's Symphony dies. I also die cut a second shadow piece for the foliage using the same dies and the Natural Hues Textured Specialty Paper and blended Pecan Pie ink on the edges of that piece as well.
  • I used glue dots and liquid glue to adhere the foliage to the shadow, then Mini Dimensionals to attach the whole piece to the card front, as shown.
  • I fussy cut out the sentiment and glued it to the card front as shown, as well.
  • The last touch was the Faux Bronze Pentagons. I added 3 of them, as you can see in the photo.
