Pinched Strip Ornaments for December's Newsletter Tutorial

I'm excited to show you some cool little Christmas tree baubles that you can make from designer series paper that have an interesting trick to them, but aren't that hard to make. You could make these by the dozens for your tree and never have to leave your house to buy ornaments. You'd just have to order some Stampin' Up! designer series paper, or better yet, some specialty designer series paper with some metallic foil designs to enhance the holiday feel of them.

I will share the "how to" with you in my free photo tutorial that comes with my December newsletter. If you're not a subscriber to my newsletters, they are also free and are sent to you via email once a month. The photo tutorials that come with each of them have step-by-step instructions for the project they demonstrate, with photos illustrating clearly each step. They also include a list of all materials used and quantities and measurements.

Here's a closer look:

  • With these three baubles, I used paper from both Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and Gilded Autumn Specialty DSP, but there are many others that you could use.
  • I got my instructions to start with from Jane from JD Papercrafts.
  • I don't want to give instructions here, as you will find all the details in the photo tutorial.
To sign up for my December tutorial, scroll to the bottom of the page and sign up to be on my mailing list, with the understanding that:
  1. You can unsubscribe easily and quickly, and
  2. I will only send you one, or two at the most, emails a month.

If you live in Canada, and don't have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. You can leave a message in the comments or contact me using any of the methods listed in the right side bar at the top of the page. You can shop with me from anywhere in Canada by clicking on the SHOP NOW button in the top menu or clicking on any of products below from my Online Store.

Learn to Make a Gift Holder for Cards Using the Festive Blossom Builder Punch

I'm assuming most of you are card makers, right? And if you're anything like me, you've got a rather large stash of homemade cards that is starting to get out of control. Furthermore, you have a large list of friends and relative that you'd like to give something to for Christmas, but the budget is a bit tight this year. Here's where your hobby pays off and gives your hubby a reason to be happy that you've spent like a crazy person on crafting supplies! How many of those people would love to receive a selection of homemade cards for Christmas that they could use year round to give to others? I know I have quite a few among my family and friends who love to get them! And I want to show you a way to package them so that they know that they're getting something extra special.

This is a card holder that I've used time and time again and can hold up to 10 handmade cards of standard (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") size, as long as they are regular thickness, fewer if some are fancy folds with more layers. You use the Envelope Punch Board to make it and it is quick to put together and you can add more or less decor to it as you like. Take a look:

  • These two projects that you see, the card holder on the right and a Christmas card that would fit in it will be the subject of free photo tutorials on my December Newsletter coming out next week! You will get step-by-step instructions accompanied by photos, for each project, including a list of materials you will need and all the measurements.
  • All you need to do to get these is to make sure you are on my Newsletter email list. I normally send out only 1 email a month to keep my customers updated on my classes in the coming month and any new promotions that Stampin' Up! has coming up. I will occasionally (rarely) send another if a surprise promotion comes up that I think you will really want to know about that can't wait for the next newsletter. That being said, you are always welcome to unsubscribe at any time without difficulty.
  • The card holder is covered with Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper and features a palette of Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and Real Red. The belly band holds it closed and features a poinsettia made using the Festive Flower Builder Punch and a tag using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.
  • The card is a quick one with a similar palette except it switches the Real Red for Early Espresso. The sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set and it uses the Stars Framelits and the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. If you haven't made any Christmas cards yet, this would be an easy one of which to make multiples!

Here's how the holder looks open, just like an envelope with width to it, and, of course, more sturdy so it can stand on its own.

If you are not yet on my newsletter list, it's easy to sign up. Just enter you email in the link below and click "Go" and you will be getting these two tutorials in the next issue!
