CASing the Catalogue for the Holiday Catalogue Launch

Altlhough it's a lot of work, I actually enjoy preparing for a Catalogue Launch. I use the Catalogue to prepare samples of the different suites because I can make many samples in a short time without having to think a lot about the design of each one. I'm having a Holiday Catalogue Launch on Saturday and I wanted to show you some of the sample decor I have preparted so far:

This is for the Toile Tidings Suite. It has an old fashioned Christmas look about it with traditional colours and images. Here are some close ups of the designs:

There were two stamp sets that coordinated with this set and I only bought one of them, but a majority of the catalogue designs needed both stamp and die bundles. Since I didn't have the Wreath bundle, I had to come up with another way of making the wreath. For one, I used the Leaf Ribbon in the Annual Catalogue, and for the other I made it up using die cut leaf sprigs from the Christmas Cardinal Dies.

There are also two beautiful ribbons with this suite. One is the Real Red 1" Ruched Ribbon and the other is Garden Green  3/8" Double Stitched Ribbon. It has a stripe of Gold right down the middle and looks so festive!

And let's talk about the stamp set , Toile Christmas! I love cardinals, especially on Christmas Cards, and this one is lovely. If you don't like colouring, stamp it in black on Real Red cardstock and you won't have to do another thing to it.  But if you like to colour, stamp it with the s ame black ink and get some of Stampin' Blends out and go to town.

Next up is the Wrapped in Plaid  Suite. This set is based on plaids and pine trees and comes with a punch.

These cards featured a 3D treee. Ask me how I made the tree 3D! The one on the right uses a faux watercolour techenique, where you spritz your stamp with water after inking it up and before you stamp with it. In the middle there is a small homemade envelope that I can show you how to make if you ask.
In the middle is one of the new gold pizza boxes decorated so that you can give someone a gift in it. It would be perfect for a cookie or smalle baked good, or a selection of 3 x 3 cards. The one on the right is my own design and it also features the mini jingle bells that are part of this suite as well.

The last suite that I've completed so far is the Let It Snow Suite. It's a snowman-centric suite for sure, but the bundle is  stamp set and a Snowman Builder Punch which is easy to use. The DSP is bright, happy and varied.

The card on the left uses some of the Feels Like Frost DSP and even sponges one of them! And I made my own backgreound paper stamping the little snow flakes stamp in Coastal Cabana Ink on Coastal Cabana cardstock. Instead of the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint, which I don't have, I used Shimmery White Embossing Paste.
The last two feature things cut out of the DSP like the trees, the snoman and the snowflakes. The snowflakes were die cut with dies from the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box Dies.

All this decor and more will be ready to look at next Saturday. There will be wonderful door prizes, and Christmas cookies and more goodies to eat. There will be intense games of BINGO. Everyone will get one BINGO card free and may purchase a second or third for $2 each.

I will also have some of my retired products out for you to browse and you can purchase them and get half the price in FREE NEW PRODUCT from the Holiday or Annual Catalogue!!

And we will be completing 2 beautiful Make & Take Projects for you to go home with! I will need everyone to register as soon as possible with the deadline being Thursday, Sept. 26th. To register, click HERE.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     I hope you enjoyed that sneak peek!

Flourishing Phrases With First Frost and Cross of Hope Sympathy Card

A close friend of ours lost his mom recently, and though she lived to be 100 years old and had a full life, losing a parent is never easy, no matter when it happens. We wanted to have a beautiful sympathy card for the family to express our support for them and prayers for their comfort in their time of grief.

I find myself drifting towards First Frost frequently these days for the sheer beauty of the stamp set and coordinating dies and also the lovely Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper that is part of that suite. Simply gorgeous does not do it justice, and you really have to see it in real life to appreciate the shimmer of the paper. Photography is so inadequate.

Here's how I combined First Frost images with the Cross of Hope Framelits and Flourishing Phrases sentiments to create this card:

  • I chose a palette of blues and teals for the peaceful, healing vibe they give and added some Sahara Sand for contrast. I have Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Tranquil Tide as well.
  • I love the frame from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits which gives you the option of making a thin border around the outside. I used the Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper in Tranquil Tide to create that frame and also the intricate cross from the Cross of Hope Framelits.
  • I layered several different types of foliage and flowers around the cross including some baby's breath die cut from vellum card stock. The roses are stamped in Tranquil tide and Bermuda Bay.
This past Saturday, I held a very successful Holiday Catalogue Launch at my house and I thought I would share some images of the decor I used:

Many of the designs you see were CASEd right out of the Holiday Catalogue. There are far too many to make in a short time for me to come up with all my own designs, but I added my own touches to some and some are entirely my own, but they were effective in giving my customers a good look at what the different products could do and what they looked like. We had a good time with games, door prizes, make & takes and food (pumpkin roll bar is delicious!) And it was free. And my retired products were on sale! You'll have to come out next time!

Click on the links below to take you to my On-Line Store, where you can read about, look at, and purchase if you wish, the products used to make this card today.
