This card, with its Cherry Cobbler and gold theme, uses the Brightest Glow bundle including the Brightest Glow stamp set and the Labels Aglow dies. The background DSP is from the Lights Aglow 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper, enhanced by the Glimmer 12" x 12" Specialty Paper.

The second card uses the Ringed with Nature Bundle:

I really wanted to try making a rustic Christmas Card with this versatile set. I originally made one with all Crumb Cake card base and tree rings but it lost a lot without the contrast, so I used Very Vanilla instead. The Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder that embosses and die cuts at the same time is very cool, and I love all the great little embellishments and sentiments you can add.

october class 1

In October, I'm planning to hold both an In Person and an Online Christmas Card class. I'll have two price options. In Person: Monday, Oct. 24 by clicking HERE.

Online Out of Towners: Fri., Oct. 14 by clicking HERE.

Online in the Okanagan: Monday, Oct. 24, by clicking HERE.

Here's the first card I'll be featuring:

october class 2

This card uses the Boughs of Holly Suite, alcohol ink blending on vellum, embossing vellum and die cutting using the Holly Berry dies. The background DSP is from the Boughs of Holly set.

The second card uses the Lights Aglow Suite:

october class 3

It was difficult to photograph this largely monotone design all in Soft Succulent, except for the sentiment on a Evening Evergreen tag. You can see all the delicate silver embossing on the snowflakes and the designs on the Festive Foil background paper. But with all that and the Boca pattern on the Lights Aglow 6 x 6 Specialty DSP just behind the snowflakes. I have to say that the dies for the large snowflake are amazing. They die cut the outline but also an intricate pattern of cut-outs in the interior of the snowflake without touching any of the beautiful heat embossed designs I stamped on it. The result is stunning and the photo just doesn't do it justice!

On the next post, I feature the other two designs.

Trimming the Tree Bundle for As You See It Challenge #284

trimming the tree bundle for aysi #284 1

It's time for another sketch challenge at As You See It Challenges and this time it is brought to us by the lovely Joanne James! I love this one because there is definitely a recognizable shape, but there is also lots of room for being creative and I'm really looking forward to seeing all the entries!! Here's the banner:

challenge #284

I'll bet you have lots of ideas, don't you? I wanted to highlight the Perfect Partners Promo before it's over. So I used the Trimming the Tree stamp set from the Annual Catalogue and the time limited dies that coordinate with it that are only available until Sept. 30. They are definitely handy and create a look that you couldn't get with the stamps alone.

  • On a Merry Merlot card base I added a layer of Copper Foil sheet and a slightly smaller layer of the Lights Aglow 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper in Evening Evergreen.
  • My pendulum layer is Merry Merlot cardstock embossed using the Merry Melodies 3D Embossing Folder.
  • I  2-step stamped the Christmas tree from the Trimming the Tree stamp set in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent on Basic White and also stamped the garlands, bow and the sentiment in Merry Merlot.
  • I die cut these with the coordinating Tree Trimming Dies, available only until September 30th. With the same dies, I die cut the other trimmings from Copper Brushed Metallic Cardstock and the tree holder from Gray Granite cardstock. The sentiment I die cut using the Stitched Rectangle dies.
  • I assembled everything, popping up the tree and sentiment using dimensionals.
  • I added some copper Brushed Metallic Dots at the end.
