Spotlight on Nature & the In Colours for New at SU

new at su banner

Welcome to our May NEW AT SU! Blog Hop! We love to share creative ideas from Stampin' Up! with you. Today we have projects featuring the new 2024 - 2026 In Colours and some products from the new 2024/25 Annual Catalogue! I decided to use all the in colours for 5 separate cards with the same design, but a different In Colour each. I'm using the new Spotlight on Nature bundle, so pretty and such a great set of dies, that I'm sure we'll be using on an ongoing basis.

spotlight on nature

Here you can see the card design in all of the new In Colours for 2024 - 2026. The colours include Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie, Summer Splash, Petunia Pop, and Shy Shamrock, in the order you see them in the photo. They are such bright summery colours this time. Which one is your favourite? Here's how I made the card:

peach pie, petunia pop

  • I started with a cardstock base in which ever In Colour I was using, measuring 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
  • I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock, 5 1/4" x 4", and embossed it with the new So Swirly embossing folder.
  • I cut a piece of 2024-2026 In Colour DSP into 5" x 3" (so I could get two from 1 sheet) and I added it to the Basic White panel, as shown, using Tombo glue.
  • I cut a piece of ribbon in the coordinating In Colour, about 5 3/4" and stretched across the card front about 1" from the bottom, adhering the ends on the back on either side.
shy shamrock

  • Adhere the whole Basic White layer to the card base. I used Tombo.
  • Die cut a circle using the largest Spotlight on Nature Eyelit Die and also a label using the smallest Deckled Rectangle die.
  • Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the flowers and butterfly images from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set on to the circle as shown. Stamp the sentiment and texture image on to the deckled rectangle label, as shown.
  • Use the appropriate colours of Stampin' Blends Combos to colour in the images and the Light Smoky Slate marker to out line them.
  • Add the circle  and label with dimensionals. Bling up your card with the 2024 - 2026 In Colour Shimmer Gems.

Eastern Palace Suite for Freshly Made Sketches

I was so excited to get a couple of deliveries this week! One was the new Eastern Palace Early Release, which is a preview of a new suite of products that everyone is going to be able to order in May! Yes, my dear customer, that means you!  You'll be able to get your hands on three of the new In Colours, one of the new Designer Series Papers and and new stamp set and thinlit bundle plus accessories starting May 1. That will help ease the waiting period until you can order from the new 2017-18 Annual Catalogue June 1.

I was looking a Freshly Made Sketches' latest design and I thought this suite of products would be a good fit:

Here is my design:

  • The card base is Dapper Denim which matches the design on the bottom of the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper*. The upper piece is actually the reverse side and the colour is one of the new In Colours: Fresh Fig*!
  • The sentiment is from the new stamp set, Eastern Beauty*. It is embossed using Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.
  • I stamped the central focal point on Very Vanilla cardstock using all three of the new inks that came in this early release: Tranquil Tide* for the flower petals, Lemon Lime Twist* for the center design, and Fresh Fig* for the outer embellishment. I punched out this design with the 2" Circle Punch. There are thinlits that coordinate with this stamp set, but I haven't yet purchase them. Luckily, many of the shapes fit within punches or the Layering Circles Framelits.
  • The other gold shapes you see are actually stickers - Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers* which I had some fun with here. It's great that they are transparent. In the center of the two sticker on the right you'll see a brand new embellishment that is not part of this suite and which you won't be able to get your hot little hand on until June. These are the Gold Faceted Gems**. (They also come in Clear) They are really glittery and fancy and you're going to love them!
Anyway, that's the scoop! Get excited and ready to order this new suite in May. The other great things that come with it are Very Vanilla Notecards and Envelopes* with one assortment, or with the Premier Assortment you get Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock*, both new products that will be available in the new catalogue!

*New products from the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue, available on Early Release, May 1 - 31.
**New products from the 2017-18 Annual Catalogue, available on June 1.

Many products from the Retiring List have already sold out so don't wait too long to get the items you were always planning to order but haven't had time to yet. Your best bet is to go to my Online Store to the Retiring Products section and look to see if your product is still there. They are updated in real time so if it's not there, it has likely sold out. You can ask me to check if you are not sure. If you want to be sure to get your items, place your order online yourself. I usually have to gather a few orders before submitting, so that may mean that what you want sells out before I can put the order through. Placing it yourself online is the only way to be sure that you'll get what you want. If you are not worried about that, then by all means contact me and I will place your order for you. You can also text or phone me at 250-768-7379. If it is a stamp set, Stampin' Up! will continue to produce it until May 22, so you will be okay until then. Other than that, everything will be available only WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

Have a happy Easter Weekend!

Roomie Gifts for OnStage and Some Sneak Peeks

A well-loved Stampin' Up! tradition is the custom of Roomie Gifts or bringing a little treat for your hotel roomies when you are at a Stampin' Up! event. Usually you try to dress up the container a bit, because, after all, we ARE papercrafters! I made my containers this year from the Window Box Thinlit Dies, with a little embellishment on top from Dragonfly Dreams. And I used some retired oldies but goodies that I couldn't give away, precisely for this reason, on the front. One was the Little Letters Framelit Dies and the other was the recently retired Sale-A-Bration Glimmer Paper Assortment. I filled them with a conglomeration of amazing little gadgets and doohickeys that everyone needs to have (NOT) but I thought might come in handy when getting a new Annual Catalogue such as glasses cleaner wipes, post-it notes, and Cadbury Mini Eggs! And then I found the CUTEST tiny needle nosed pliers that I had to get just because they were so cute! I'm not really sure what they are good for, but they're CUTE! Here's another look at the gifts:

But I bet you care nothing about that really. What you really want to see is a sneak peek of the new Annual Catalogue! Well, the publication gag is off now so I can show you some things like the cover of the catty:

So, there it is in all it's glory! And you'll see more and more of it in the days to come as I get some of the new products and start to play with them. Suffice it to say that there is plenty of fun ahead and you'd better either start saving up, or go hold up a bank somewhere. I recommend the former! They may not let you have paper snips in jail!

We had a great time at OnStage Local in Calgary and Stampin' Up! was generous as always: Here is a photo of my loot, which includes my swap cards from the team:

(If you squint, you might be able to make out a few of the new stamp sets in there!)

Speaking of the team, here we are at two tables:

Okay, one more sneak peek:

The new In Colours:

From left to right along the top: Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, and Powder Pink! What do you think?? What's your favourite?

Well, when a new catalogue comes in, old product must retire to make room for the new and this year is no exception. The Retiring List has come out and these items will only be available until May 31, and some only while supplies last, so you may have to move quickly to get the ones you want. There are also lots of deals to be had, some up to 50% off.

Here is a link to the PDF list: Canadian Retiring Products

Now, unlike previous years, this list will not be updated daily as supplies of some items run out. I will try to keep you updated, but your best bet will be to go to my Online Store and click on Retired Products. Only the items that are still available will show up in the store and they are kept updated in real time. You can see the pictures of the products and any sale prices are shown when you click on the individual products.

Here is a link to the Retiring Products in my Online Store.

I will be putting in orders fairly frequently, but if you want something that you're afraid will run out, you would be wise to order it yourself online right away.

Stampin' Up! will continue to produce all stamp sets until May 22. After May 22 all stamp sets will be available while supplies last. All tools and accessories, including paper, will only be available while supplies last starting now. That is why you will want to put in your orders for your favourites as soon as possible.

See you on Friday with a new card!

Sneak Peak!!

Yesterday was the first day that we, as Stampin' Up! demonstrators were able to order from a selection of Sneak Peek products from the new 2015/16 Annual Catalogue. I've got to tell you that it is one of the most exciting things about being a Stampin' Up! demo! And we can now show you products and samples from the Sneak Peek selection to whet your curiosity and excitement before you can order from the catalogue starting June 2, 2015.

Here are the new 2015 - 17 In Colours:

These are the latest on trend colours and we'll be able to play with them for 2 years before they retire! Which is your favourite? I'm going with Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder.

And while the new colours are awesome, these aren't even the best things in the new catalogue, as far as I'm concerned. You're going to love it!  I will be getting your new catalogues to you if you are an active customer starting around May 18.  If you haven't been active but would like a free new catalogue, place an order for $50 in the next couple of weeks and I will see that you get one.

CAN'T WAIT??

I never could either! If you don't want to have to wait until June 2 to see, touch, smell and taste the new goodies, I have a solution for you: Get your $125 Starter Kit from Stampin' Up! You'll probably be ordering that much anyway over the next two months. In your Starter Kit you will be able to order $155 dollars worth of any current product you like, INCLUDING any of the Sneak Peek products!
How cool is that? And want to know another COOL thing? Stampin' Up! ships it to you with no shipping charges!

What other benefits are there to purchasing the Starter Kit?

  • You will be able to order subsequent products at a minimum 20% discount! Now, that comes in handy.
  • Your first $200 or more demonstrator order will have a one time 30% discount if it is within 45 days! How good would that be for stocking up on new catalogue items?
  • You will be part of a community of like-minded people who love to stamp and love to share ideas and help you with your stamping needs. There are several Facebook pages to which you will have access, including my own Papercraft Cats page, as well as Stampin' Connection, a demo-only on-line community.

   What's the Catch?

  • Honestly, there is none! You don't need to do another thing if you don't want to. If you sign up in May you will continue to enjoy the 20% discount on your favourite papercrafting products until September 30th, 2015. If you order or sell a minimum  of $400 by then, you can keep your demonstrator status. If not, simply drop with no costs or penalties.
  • You are not required to sell, hold parties, carry inventory, attend meetings or anything else unless you want to. If you don't make your quarterly minimums then you just drop. And if you want to make some extra money, the products practically sell themselves when you demonstrate them. I will help you get a good start and support you in building your business your way.

So How Do I Get the Starter Kit?

  • I'm glad you asked. Check the menu at the top of this page and click on the button that says, "Join My Team", then follow the prompts from there. Make sure you have banking info and SIN number as well as a credit card to pay. Make a list of products you'd like to include in your kit up to a value of $155 dollars.  If you'd like some help to navigate your way through, give me a phone call and I can answer all your questions.

Work of Art Mini Thank You's

Okay, I know that title sounds conceited!  "My cards are a mini work of art!"

But really, I'm talking about the name of one of our newest stamp sets from Stampin' Up!  One of three or four that demonstrators were able to preorder before the new Annual Catalogue came out.  It's called Work of Art because it consists of a number of brush strokes along with some sentiments.  And I used it to create some thank you cards for my customers:

    • I used the new In Colours for card bases and ink.  In this photo you can see Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss.  They are very rich deep colours and I think you will really appreciate their beauty when you use them.
    • The DSP I used is from a Designer Series Paper Stack called Moonlight.  These are always great value as you get 48 - 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" sheets for only $8.50.
    • The sentiments are from the same stamp set, as is the heart.  I stamped the heart, and because I didn't want to have to cut out 30 of them by hand, I used the small heart punch to cut them out.  It is a smaller heart than the image, but it works.  I haven't tried the heart framelits to see if they would coordinate yet, but I will and I'll let you know.
Here are the three cards a little closer up:

I also made some with the other two In Colours, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.

    Product Shares

Speaking of new products, do you find that there is more that you want than you can afford?  Would you like an opportunity to sample more of the paper and accessories?  Product Shares are your answer, and I'm offering quite a few of them!

Here's how it works:  I facilitate 4 or 5 people buying a variety of let's say, ribbon and then I divide the cost between them and split up the product evenly and mail or deliver it to each of them.  They get a greater variety of ribbon for a lower price.

Here are the product shares I'm offering.  The first round closes Sunday, June 15.
