Vintage Leaves Thank Yous

We decided to leave a couple of days early to visit my daughter and her family up north, and so that meant a bit of scrambling to get everything ready in time! And, of course, a huge order came in just a couple of days away from departure date! That needed sorting and thank you cards written up for customers so I had to make some cards pronto! I got out an old favourite stamp set, Vintage Leaves to help me with the task, along with a package of Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes.

The Notecards & Envelopes are just the right size for a batch of thank yous. They are 3 1/2" x 5" which is not such a large area to fill, but you can still use a sizeable sentiment on them and it looks good. I got out my go-to thank you sentiment set: One Big Meaning and got busy.

  • I used a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" panel on the front of each card and stamped it with three of the leaf images in the Vintage Leaves set. I stuck to warm fall colours such as Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie for the leaves and Early Espresso for the sentiments.
  • I stamped off all the leaves at least once (twice for the Cajun Craze) before stamping them so they wouldn't overpower the card. That way, too, the sentiments which are both very large, could be stamped over the images and not be lost with the leaves have too intense a colour.
  • Some Regal Enamel Shapes added a few finishing touches.

Last weekend for this sale. Grab a couple of friends and share the cost and the paper to make it worth your while!!

One in a Melon Cooper Style - Paper Pumpkin June '17

This weekend, I needed some thank you cards for customers, and I had completely run out of Notecards & Envelopes. I had taken two Paper Pumpkin kits with me camping, but I had only had time to complete one of them, the August kit - Giftable Greetings! I had fun with that one, but really just put it together as is! I enjoy doing that usually, because I don't have to think or design. I just follow directions, which is really relaxing for me - like a holiday!

But I've been hanging on to the June '17 Paper Pumpkin - One in a Melon - because it's so stinkin' cute and I've been meaning to put it together, but I just didn't really have any use for the treat bags and Hooray sentiments on the cards. Yesterday, it occurred to me that I could turn everything into Thank You cards, and I did!

Here's how it was meant to look:

And the Cooper version:

  • The differences are few for this card. I took one of the treat bags and cut it to make a backing for the yellow watercolour panel.
  • I used the Thanks sentiment from the Jar of Love stamp set instead of the Hooray sentiment that comes in the kit.
  • I used some of the gorgeous watermelon tissue paper, which is quite heavy duty, to make an envelope liner.

  • These cards use the materials that would have been normally used for the treat bags. I cut the bags up to make panels for the front of the cards. I stamped the tags with the watermelon stamps using Melon Mambo and Emerald Envy. Then I added the sentiment from One Big Meaning in Lemon Lime Twist ink.
  • I mounted them on the Daffodil Delight banners and added a double bow in the Melon Mambo Baker's Twine. I attached the bow with a glue dot, but added the cute Lemon Lime twist clothespin over top as well.
  • I took some more of the awesome tissue paper and folded it accordion style to make a little fan-like embellishment which I adhered either at the bottom or the top of the banner and attached it all to the front of the card. The card base is Daffodil Delight cardstock.
  • Again, I used some of that fabulous tissue to make envelope linings for the envelopes. There wasn't enough to make liners that went all the way to the bottom of the envelope, but they went down far enough to hold well and to be there for all the visible areas.

A Simple Thank You with Succulent Garden

It's funny how often I initially don't warm up to a product at first and end up loving it in the end. Such is the case with the whole Succulent Garden Suite in the Occasions Catalogue. I've never really liked succulent plants that much, where my husband loves them, so when I saw them in the catty, I was like, "Meh." But then I played around with them for a while to create some decor for my Catalogue launch and was amazed at the realistic look you could get with the framelits when you make the little plants and put them in flower pots.

But today I want to show you how beautiful the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper is. I made some simple thank you cards for my customers with some of the patterns from the series and I think they really highlight how gorgeous that paper is. Take a close look and try not to drool on your tablet!

Mint Macaron is paired with the sentiment from One Big Meaning in Old Olive here.

Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Old Olive here with the sentiment in Old Olive again.

I just love this sweet Sweet Sugarplum gingham print with the little white knot using the Whisper White 1/8" Grosgrain from the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack.

This weekend, I was in Okanagan Falls for a small crafting retreat with my stamping group down there!

We had a lot of fun! Good food, good company, great talk and lots of crafting fun took place.

I usually host these, but this year was a little different, because one of my group has become a brand new demonstrator and wanted to help me host the retreat! Actually she did most of the organizing of the retreat herself! I designed three of the projects and she designed three of them.
I wanted to show you the three she designed because I did those projects along with the rest of the group and thoroughly enjoyed making these great cards! Make sure you leave a little love for Dianne Gough in the comments today and tell her what a great job she did with her designs!

Some of the other projects I made have to be kept under wraps for a bit, but I will share when I'm able. I will let you know that I did this project with the others as one of my three and I think I created a monster!

Let's just say that there were a lot (A LOT) of shadow box frames created this weekend with all sorts of things in the middle!! Anyway, it's a wrap until next year, and a shout out to Dianne, my new downline, who took on that big an event so soon in her Stampin' Up! career! Kudos!
