Florals in Bloom for As You See It Challenge #348

florals in bloom for aysi #348 1

As You See It Challenge #348 is a Theme Challenge entitled Spots or Stripes, designed by Team Member Jan C., and since two of my team mates already chose spots, I thought I had better choose Stripes for my design. I found some striped DSP in the Florals in Bloom Suite, and using products from that suite, let it take me from there! The Florals in Bloom Suite is one of the new suites in the new 2025/26 Annual Catalogue.

Here's the challenge banner:

And here's a full sized photo of my card:

  • The base is Secret Sea, a new 2025 - 2027 In Colour and on that is a layer of the Florals in Bloom, 12" x 12" DSP in Cloud Cover, another of the new In Colours.
  • The diagonal stripe is in Secret Sea and Cloud Cover as well.
  • The floral die cuts come from the Pretty Florals dies, all a part of this suite! I used Secret Sea, Cloud Cover and Darling Duckling cardstock for the florals.
  • The sentiment is die cut using the Sweet Blooms dies and Secret Sea and Darling Duckling cardstock.

The new 2025/26 Annual Catalogue is open for business:

Winterly Tree Tops for As You See It Challenge #342

winterly tree tops for aysi #342

It's theme time at As You See It Challenges and our team mate, Jane, has come up with a sweet one, For the Birds, a bird theme. Most everyone has a bird themed stamp set or patterned paper to work with so this topic will appeal to most. I decided to go with the little birds in the Winterly Tree Tops suite, carried over from the Sept/Dec Mini catalogue. Here's the Challenge banner.

challenge #342

I decided to go soft colours and off white, so I chose the Timeless Plaid DSP, Crumb Cake and Basic Beige cardstock.

  • On a card base of Crumb Cake, I added a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic Beige that I embossed using the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder and lightly enhanced with Crumb Cake ink using a Blending Brush.
  • I cut a 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" piece of the Timeless Plaid DSP and glued it at the bottom of the Basic Beige piece, then adhered both to the card front.
  • I stamped the two bird image on Basic Beige with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured it in using our Watercolour Pencils, Assortments 1 & 2. I used a Blender Pen to lightly blend out the pencil strokes and blend the colours together.
  • I die cut the image using the Winterly Tree Top dies, and added it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals.
  • As embellishments, I added some Faux Glass Dots.

Winterly Tree Tops for As You See It Challenge #336

winterly tree tops for aysi #336

Well, Winter has definitely reached my neck of the woods with temperatures dipping below zero at night and snow on the hillsides all around us. So reaching for the Winterly Tree Tops bundle was all in season for the latest As You See It Challenge. It's a Theme challenge and the theme is seed/acorns and I had neither in my current products, except for some papers in the Iconic Celebration set, but someone had already used the best one.

So I was stumped, until I thought that those red berries on bushes that get all wizened in the winter are really seed cases, so Winterly Tree Tops it is! Here's the Challenge Banner:

I also used the coordinating DSP, Nests of Winter to make my card and here's how it turned out:

  • I used a card base of Gray Granite, 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4".
  • For the front, I die cut some Cherry Cobbler cardstock with the largest Deckled Rectangle die and then embossed it with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the center of the card base.
  • I used the second largest Deckled Rectangle die to die cut a piece of the Nests of Winter Designed Series Paper that you see here, centered it on the Cherry Cobbler rectangle and adhered it.
  • Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the smaller single bird on Basic White card stock and just the bottom of the larger two bird stamp, so I got the feet and branches.
  • Using Cherry Cobbler, Pebbled Path, and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Duos, I coloured in the images.
  • I die cut both images with the Winterly Tree Tops Dies, I used pieces of the tree from the two bird image to lengthen the perch of the one bird, adhering them to both ends.
  • Using pieces of dimensionals, I mounted the bird to the card front.
  • I die cut the smallest Deckled Rectangle shape from Basic White cardstock and stamped the sentiment on it using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • After arranging and gluing the piece of Cherry Cobbler & Gold 1/4" Satin Ribbon, I added the sentiment using dimensionals, over top of it.
