It's Time to Shine with Daisy Lane

I love when Stampin' Up! brings out new images to go with old punches and that's what they've done in this new Annual Catalogue with the Daisy Lane stamp set. We have the Daisy Punch that coordinates with the Daisy Delight stamp set, but now Stampin' Up! has added the Daisy Lane stamp set and, not only that, but they've added another coordinating punch to go with it, the Medium Daisy Punch, which is smaller.

It's almost newsletter time again and, as you know, I try to include a free photo tutorial in each of my newsletters for my subscribers to download. For August, my newsletter tutorial will be the instructions for making this flowery card, using the Daisy Lane Stamp Set and both the Daisy Punch and the Medium Daisy Punch.

Here's a close up look at it:

  • The flowers are easy to make but just consist of layers of different sized daisies and other punched pieces glued together.
  • The background includes the Bricks & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and a trellis made using the All Wired Up Background stamp and Silver Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiments are from the Daisy Lane stamp set.
If you would like to receive this photo tutorial with step-by-step instructions complete with photos and including a list of all supplies and tools needed, including measurements, all you need to do is to sign up for my FREE monthly newsletter by entering your email address in the box below and hitting GO. I usually only send out 1 email a month unless a last minute promotion that I know you'll want to hear about comes up after the newsletter has already been sent out.

I won't be giving instructions here because I'd like to keep those for the people who sign up to receive my newsletter. It's fun making the flowers and they also look great on home decor pieces.
In the meantime, have a great weekend and make some time to stamp!

Fancy Frost Fresh Fruit for The Paper Players

Woohoo! It's Friday! What a busy week it's been, and when I say busy, I mean busy in the Craft Cave creating! I was trying to get ahead a little and I don't know if I accomplished that, but over the last week I've designed quite a few cards...and this was the last of them. I wanted to enter The Paper Player's Challenge this week:

It was supposed to be a clean and simple card, which, of course, I did not quite achieve. But we were to also include fall taste treats such as apples and pumpkins on our card. What sprang to my mind was my mom so many years ago, all through the summer and into the early fall, busy in the kitchen canning everything she could get her hands on. And we looked forward to eating all that wonderful canned produce every winter. I'm sure it got us through a few lean years! She worked so hard on it. And I know that all her love went into every Mason jar of peaches, pears and cherries that she put up.

I wanted my card to reflect that love, and I'm so glad that we have the Jar of Love stamp set and Everyday Jars Framelits with which I could recreate the scene.

I don't want to reveal any more of the process here as this card will be my free photo tutorial for my October newsletter. If you are on the email list to receive my free monthly newsletter, you will also receive the tutorial, which is a step-by-step photo tutorial including a list of supplies needed and all measurements. If you would like to receive my newsletter you can sign up below, with the understanding that you can cancel at any time without any difficulty.

Everything Eleanor Open Frame Card Tutorial

Of all the stamp sets that I love that are retiring, there is one set that I am sending off with tears in my eyes. One that I fell in love with the moment I saw it and it breaks my heart to see it go far too soon: Everything Eleanor!

I love the flourish - it's one of the best ever and has graced the background of many a card. That worn label has been stamped and fussy cut so many time. Then there are those beautiful flowers. You can stamp them and hand trim them and decorate them with pearls, or emboss and watercolour. They are so pretty!

So today I decided to use it for one last time (but maybe not!)

If you like this set as much as I do, I have a free tutorial for you, so that you can make this card. To get the tutorial, all you have to do is sign up for my free monthly newsletter, with the understanding that you may unsubscribe at any time.

Antique Hearts for The Paper Players

Yesterday, I set out to create a clean and simple valentine card because I wanted to enter The Paper Players' Challenge this week!

I had this idea to layer an array of punched hearts with a sentiment and only two layers behind. So far, so good! Then I got out my new Timeless Textures stamp set. BIG MISTAKE! I started playing with the textures and, well....I couldn't make myself stop. So, although I really like the result, it is definitely NOT clean and simple. Uh, sorry! I think maybe I will enter it anyway.

This is also the card for which I will have a step-by-step photo tutorial, which will be free for every one who subscribes to my newsletter this month, so I'm not going to give you the recipe today. Simply fill in the subscription form below to sign up for the newsletter, and hence the tutorial. There is an understanding that you may unsubscribe at any time, and that I won't flood your inbox with emails. Usually, unless there's a big sale, you will only get one newsletter a month from me.

Birthday Bloom for Pals Paper Arts

I have a good friend and customer who has been battling cancer for almost two years now. She recently had surgery on Christmas Day, no less, but is hoping it will help her to be more mobile now. She has been on my mind all over the Christmas break and I wanted to send her a special card to let her know that I've been thinking about her and praying for her. She's been through so much!

I used the layout from the Pals Paper Arts' Challenge sketch:

And I made use of one of my favourite techniques, the Whitewash technique!

  • This is a sneak peek of the Birthday Blooms* stamp set from the new 2016 Occasions Catalogue, with the sentiment from the Rose Wonder* stamp set and Designer Series Paper from the Birthday Bouquet* series.
*These products are found in the 2016 Occasions Catalogue and will be available to order on Jan. 5, 2016.

This is the card for which I will provide a FREE step-by-step photo tutorial in my up-coming newsletter. It will include photos and clear directions for every step as well as a list of materials and all dimensions. You will learn how to do the Whitewash Technique.

If you would like to receive this tutorial free of charge, you only need to sign up to receive my free monthly newsletter, with the understanding that you can unsubscribe at any time.
