June's Paper Pumpkin and Movie Date!

I finally got some time to play with my June Paper Pumpkin kit! All the kits we get now are so cute and we get so much in each one, that it's an amazing deal for $24.95 (which includes shipping). This kit allows you to make 8 very unique cards in 2 designs, 4 of each. These cards have many distinctive features that you don't see every day, including the shape of the banner cards.

Before I give you a closer look, here's a video from Paper Pumpkin on how to put it together, so grab your popcorn and check it out:

So I pretty much followed the directions with these first two cards, but I'm planning on coming up with some more variations soon and I'll post those when I do.  In the meantime, you can see what others have been doing with this kit on Pinterest!

A Paper Pumpkin subscription makes a terrific gift for a crafty friend who doesn't have a lot of time or space to craft, but would love to do it if she or he could. They are also great for you to work on with your kiddos! What a great activity to help keep them busy over the summer!

You can prepay subscriptions for yourself or someone else, or go straight to My Paper Pumpkin and sign up.  You can easily cancel or pause your subscription at any time.

Here's the info on the Prepaid Subscriptions:

Message me if you are interested in prepaid! If you subscribe on line, please select me as your demonstrator!

Thanks for stopping by! See you tomorrow with another design for As You See It Challenges!

Product Shares and a New Video Tutorial

I am happy to announce a new round of Product Shares for the 2015 Occasions Catalogue!  What is a product share? It's a way to get more variety for your crafting dollar. You purchase a quarter share of a bundle of products and that bundle is divided among all 4 share holders and you can get a smaller sample of a greater variety of things like paper, ribbon and embellishments!

I'm also happy to announce a new video tutorial - finally! I'm excited to be able to start making videos to help my on-line readers again. This tutorial is about a fantastic way of using dryer sheets to help you remove the tiny bits after using an intricate die like the Butterfly Thinlits Dies! You'll be glad you watched!

Now for the Product Shares!  After you read about them here click on the link on the top menu that says "Occasions Product Shares", where you'll find a form to fill out in order to take part in the shares. You won't have to pay until I send you a PayPal invoice. I can only ship in Canada unfortunately, due to Stampin' Up! rules, but I'm sure you can find demonstrators in your country who are also offering Product Shares. Ask me for suggestions, if this is the case.

Another Movie Monday and A Double Challenge

Hey, everyone!  I hope you had a great Easter weekend.  It was pretty quiet around here, so I was able to get my video tutorial edited for today's Movie Monday.  Today I am showing you how to create a "Whisper" Background with a large background stamp.  I couldn't find the correct name for the technique with some quick snooping on Splitcoast Stampers, so I made the name up.  Here's the card it was used on again:

I called it the Whisper Background technique because you are just leaving a whisper (small part) of a background stamp on the cardstock.  Here's another card I used the technique on:

And now, here's the video tutorial showing you how:

And I was really busy yesterday, because I have another card to show you.  This one is for two challenges, Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #132 and Dynamic Duos Challenge #99.

  • These "Black Tie" challenges for Dynamic Duos are so rich looking.  The Rich Razzleberry, even by its name alone is an intense colour and black makes it more dramatic.  THEN, throw in some gold, and we are over the top opulent!  Wow!  I thought it would be a good anniversary card.
  • The Brushed Gold cardstock is not often seen on too many blog sites, but it is beautiful paper!  I get it out for those very special cards.  Here, it forms the card base.
  • I used the Stripes embossing folder for the Rich Razzleberry panel, as it really needed something before I tried that.  Don't be afraid to experiment a bit, but do it before you glue everything down. (Don't ask me why I mentioned that!)
  • I stamped the large flower from Secret Garden in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder.  I stamped the image and embossed it three times so I could layer it and make the flower more 3D.  (Hint:  Even though there are four layers here, I only stamped 3 images. That's because I cut the small middle out of one layer but used its largest petals as an underlayer behind the complete flower on the second layer.  You can't see the hole so it's a good way to conserve paper.)
  • I used the Happy Anniversary from Teeny Tiny Wishes because it was the only greeting small enough to fit in the Word Window Punch.  I trimmed off one end to make it square.
  • A few bits of glitz add the final touches.  I adhere them with a tiny drop of Tombow Multipurpose glue.

Today is the start of Free Shipping until the end of Friday, April 25th.  The Retired List is also out today and you can take a good look at it here.  If you see something you need, order it now.  There are no guarantees, because everything is only available while supplies last!  Get your orders to me quickly or order on line yourself and use the Hostess Code, GJGRBB32!
