Leftovers

When I was a kid, leftovers for dinner was always something to be approached with caution! What did those leftovers consist of?  If it was something I liked, that was not doctored up, added to, diluted or otherwise contaminated, it was a great thing!  But if, as was more often  the case, we were being served the leftovers of something we didn't like  (hence there was gobs of leftovers for the next day), leftovers were something to be avoided at all costs!

I have a lot of leftovers in my papercrafting as well.  I have a little container on my work table containing all sorts of bits and pieces that didn't make it on to my cards.  It was starting to overflow, and I decided that I needed to actually use some of it, or just start throwing out (or recycling) my leftovers.  I needed a bunch of Thank You cards for the orders that I had just sorted for delivery, and a lightbulb went on!
I decided to use bits and pieces of leftovers on my thank you cards!  I wanted to share with you how that worked out:

All the cards had either a Bermuda Bay or Crushed Curry base, but all the rest of the colour schemes differ according to what bit of leftover I used.

They all seemed to work out as I added extra bits and pieces to balance or coordinate the new items.

Overall, it was kind of fun making the bits work, and I'm sure I'll have more overflowing leftovers soon enough to try again!

The bits and pieces are too numerous and varied to write out the recipe for you here, and your leftovers will be different from mine.  So just go and play with those leftover pieces you were saving for a rainy day!  Use 'em or lose 'em!  Happy Sunday!
