Foxy Friends Sliding Flip Up Card

I've always wanted to try one of these Sliding Flip Up cards. They looked so complicated that I did not attempt one until now as I looked for new Fancy Fold designs for my Technique Night classes. But I found a great video tutorial that was so clear that the technique is actually quite easy once you have all your pieces cut and scored, and understand how everything works. I decided to use the Foxy Friends stamp set and Fox Builder Punch for the pop up scene, so naturally, the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack was perfect for the background. Take a closer look at how it works:

Here is the card flat and closed up so it can fit in a regular envelope.

And here it is with the slider part pulled out with a message on it and the background panel and the little raccoon panel sticking up. If you want to see how it is made, here is the excellent video tutorial I learned from: Sliding Pop Up Card Tutorial, made by Kim Score.

  • I used the palette of the A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper for my colours here including Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Whisper White. A Little Foxy DSP is what you see on the back panel.
  • The sentiment, You are Awesome, is from the Grateful Bunch stamp set, while the Happy Birthday is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set.
  • That adorable little raccoon is made using the Fox Builder Punch with a little help from the Foxy Friends stamp set for his mask, eyes, nose, ears and tail. All the pieces were assembled with glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.
  • Because Rocky the Raccoon was a little too small for the pop up piece of cardstock, I added a couple of different sized trees stamped using images from Foxy Friends and then hand snipped.
This is such a cool design and I can see it working so well with many different stamp sets and suites in our catalogue. I might just get addicted!

Fox's Friend, Raccoon!

As a follow-up to Friday's card, I wanted to show you another of the adorable animal images you can create with the Foxy Friends stamp set. This card was a birthday greeting for my little grandson, Wyatt, who we have been visiting along with my new little granddaughter, Pippa June, and my daughter and son-in-law.

Since Wyatt is a big city boy, I thought the appropriate animal to make with the Foxy Friends bundle, which includes the Fox Builder Punch for a 10% discount, would be a raccoon, since they have easily adapted to an urban environment. This was so much fun to stamp, punch and assemble!

  • I used a neutral palette of Basic Gray and Sahara Sand, with Real Red as the pop of colour. I really like the combination. The background paper here is from the coordinating A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • There are so many cool elements that you can combine to make the different critters in this set. The eye mask and the stripes for the tail and the little front paws that can be punched out, were just made for the raccoon!
  • I'm kind of in love with the little mushroom images, maybe because they remind me of my dear mother-in-law, who has been gone for nine years already, but who used to collect mushroom trinkets of all kinds.
  • The sentiment is from the Number of Years stamp set. It has the perfect font for a folksy little card like this one. I used some of the other sentiments from this set on the inside of the card.
