California Poppies

While I was working with Wild About Flowers, I needed to make another package of customer Thank Yous with the Whisper White Note Cards and Envelopes, so I decided to use another of the  wildflowers and this is one my husband would approve of because it is one of his favourite wildflowers ever, the California Poppy. Now, I have to admit that when you see a bunch of them blooming in a field, they are glorious, and I love their feathery foliage. My argument with them comes after their all too brief blooming period, They get all yellowy and dried out with big seed pods that look really ugly. But that doesn't happen when you stamp them, so they can remain glorious looking forever!

I took some left over scraps of Designer series paper from the Falling in Love series and the Succulent Garden series to use as background panels.

I stamped the foliage in Mint Macaron ink and the blooms in Calypso Coral, then die cut the flower using the largest plain oval from the Layering Ovals Framelit Dies. The sentiment, also stamped in Calypso Coral, is from the Gift of Love Host set (only available with Stampin' Rewards).
The bow is made using the Mint Macaron 3/8" Sheer Linen Ribbon, which I believe is currently backordered until May 8th, unfortunately.
