Sentimental Park Duo for As You See It Challenge #299 - Recipe for Framed Flowers in Blue

sentimental park duo for aysi challenge #299 1

I love recipe challenges. Maybe I just like someone telling me what to do, or at least giving me some guidelines to work within. This week at As You See It Challenges, we have a new Recipe Challenge (and can you believe it's Challenge #299 already?) The challenge was cooked up by team member, Deborah, and it's got some lovely elements as part of it. Check out the banner here:

challenge #299

I just love that it has a frame and a bow as two of the elements! And we have so many lovely blues now at Stampin' Up! with our colour refresh that this gives me a good opportunity to try them out!

Here's what I came up with:

  • I started with Thick Basic White cardstock for the base and added a layer of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper as a background.
  • I used regular basic white next and embossed it with the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder to add some texture.
  • I used the two similar sized label dies from the Sentimental Park dies, one adorned with flowers and one plain, to die cut a frame from Boho Blue cardstock. Then I cut a label with the plain label die to fit right inside it.
  • On that I heat embossed the sentiment from the Sentimental Park stamp set, in White embossing powder.
  • I die cut more small flowers using the dies from the Sentimental Park dies, from Azure Afternoon, Night of Navy, and Balmy Blue cardstock. I used them to add to the flower outlines die cut right on the frame.
  • I tied a double finger bow using the Balmy Blue & White Variegated Ribbon and added that to the card front as shown.
  • I used Festive Pearls to the centers of a few of the flowers on the frame.

I'm thinking about having another Garage Sale of my retired products, since I still have a lot left and more added since the old annual catalogue retired. Since I no longer have a garage, one of my lovely customers has offered her driveway. I will get that organized in June.

Legendary Ride with the In Colours

2023 hop banner

Welcome to our May NEW AT SU! Blog Hop! We love to share creative card ideas from Stampin' Up! with you. Today we have projects featuring the new 2023 - 2025 In Colours and how well they work together with all the new core colours. I've chosen two In Colours, namely Copper Clay and Pebbled Path and I've paired them with Misty Moonlight, one of our new core colours, and added some dark and light Silver Foil from the Silver Foil Pack for accents. The stamps and dies I'm using come from the Legendary Ride bundle.

I had fun with this card! I really enjoyed building the motorcycle from the die cuts from the Legendary Ride Dies. I used the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder to create the texture in the dark silver foil strip from the Silver Foil Pack that you can still get from the Online Exclusives. It adds some texture and interest to the card. The Copper Clay cardstock was the basic colour of the bike underneath with all the silver and black accents added on.

  • I started with Pebbled Path, another one of the new In Colours as my base and added a panel of Misty Moonlight, one of the new Neutral Core Colours.
  • Using the Metal Plate 3D embossing folder, I embossed a 1 1/4" strip of the dark silver foil from the Silver Foil Pack and placed it as you see in the photo above.
  • I die cut the basic center of the motorcycle in Copper Clay cardstock and then die cut the other parts in light silver foil and black.
  • I assembled the parts over the Copper Clay chassis, then added the assembled bike to the card front as shown.
  • I stamped the sentiments in Copper Clay ink then trimmed right around them and added them to the card front as shown.
  • Finally I added some Brushed Metallic dots as accents for this great Father's Day card.

I hope you enjoyed this project made with Legendary Ride bundle available in the nnew Annual Catalogue, and Copper Clay, Pebbled Path - 2 of the 2023/25 In Colours paired with Misty Moonlight, a new Neutral core colour.

Nesting Friends at Countryside Corners for As You See It Challenge #298

nesting friends at countryside corners for aysi #298 1

It's been awhile but I have a good excuse - I was moving! I didn't have a craft room or craft supplies available for a couple of weeks, but now I'm back in business, sort of! I'm in a space about half the size of my old room with twice as much stuff that has to go in it and I'm still trying to figure it all out! But at least I can work in it, and I'm sure it will become more functional as I sort and purge some more!

Anyway, I couldn't miss this week's As You See It Challenge #298. It's a fill in the blank challenge created by team member, Joanne, and here's the banner:

challenge #298

To fill in the blank, I would say that the most recent addition to my craft stash is the Nesting Friends Bundle and the Countryside Inn Suite, which includes the Countryside Corner Bundle. These charming products work very well together, especially as the Countryside Inn DSP has a bird themed design as one of its patterns.

  • I used a card base of the returning Misty Moonlight and on it I added a layer of the Countryside Inn DSP with a striped pattern, framed with a narrow border of basic white.
  • On top of that I added a panel with the opposite side of the DSP pattern, which has a bird theme. This panel has been die cut using the Countryside Corners dies and backed with the next size die cut in Basic White.
  • I stamped two birds in Balmy Blue and die cut them along with a Basic White branch and nest using the Nesting Friends dies. I glued the nest and branch and used dimensionals to add the birds.
  • The sentiment is from the Nesting Friends stamp set and it perfectly matches the smallest die from the Countryside Corners dies.
  • The last touch was some Iridescent Pearls.

The new catalogue is open for business!! Are you excited? What are your favourites. I will let you know mine in a coming post, but can you guess what my favourite suite is.....it has the initials E.E. If you know my style it shouldn't be too hard to figure out! Leave a comment and we'll see how many get it right.
