Christmas Movies by Stampin' Up!

Yep! Working on my newsletter and the tutorial is a biggie this time! Sooooo, enjoy a Christmas movie or two on me. No, they're not Hallmark Christmas movies, but to a stamper - a Stampin' Up! Christmas movie is better, right? The plot isn't quite so predictable! (But I still binge on the Hallmark ones when I'm doing my Christmas cards or putting together craft projects late at night!)

Here's one that shows you the 25 Stampin' Up! products from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue that are under $30 - great gifts for Craft friends. Ideal stocking stuffers for family! Contact me if you see something that interests you. Go to

Rustic Christmas Tags for December Newsletter Tutorial

Well, I'm sure most of you have designed and created most of your Christmas cards already, and if you haven't there are samples galore on my blog, on Pinterest and all over the web for you to access. For my free photo tutorial for my December newsletter, I thought that you might enjoy some tag designs instead. These are a little out of the ordinary and would really work for masculine gifts, the ones we always struggle with.

I used several rustic and woodland stamp sets to make them and a palette of Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Copper and Whisper White, with a little Black thrown in. Very neutral except for the copper. Here are some closer looks:

This design uses the Nature's Beauty stamp set as it's basis with the doe image, some bushes and lots of snowflakes and copper trims. There is a little lace and some Sparkle Glimmer Paper to soften the rustic look a little, but not so much that it takes away from the woodland look.

This set relies on the Rustic Retreat stamp set in the Annual Catalogue. The cabin is stamped separately on a 2" Circle Punch piece mounted on the rest of the tag using Dimensionals. The back of all the tags have another greeting and a place to write who the gift is to and from.

The final design uses both the Merry Moose and the Rustic Retreat stamp sets. Although I've used the Moose Punch to punch out the moose and it's no longer available, the moose is very easy to hand cut if you don't have the punch. For all the tags I also made good use of the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set for sentiments.

All the instructions for these tags will be set out in a step-by-step tutorial illustrated with photographs of each step in PDF format for you to download if you are a subscriber to my free monthly newsletter. To sign up for that, just enter your email address in the field below and hit go!

Parisian Beauty for Freshly Made Sketches

I couldn't resist! I know November is way too early to think about spring, but the new 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue does come out in January and this card is a sneak peek from that catalogue, so it's really not that far off at all! The products used in this card are mainly from that new catalogue, and because I got my Product Purchase Premiere order on Thursday, I couldn't resist a little time playing with them now that my Craft Fair is over.

The products I used are among my favourites in the catalogue. You'll be able to get your hands on them Jan. 3, unless you join my team. Then you can start ordering them Dec. 1 which is only 1 week away!

The stamp set I used is called *Parisian Beauty and it's perfect for collage stamping like I did here and looks great with the vintage look.

*These products are from the upcoming 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue and won't be available for customer purchase until Jan. 3/20.

The layout I used is from the latest Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

Here's a closer look at my card:

  • On a card base of Sahara Sand, I added a Soft Suede panel that I embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. I used some new *Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper over that with a bit of *Petal Pink Metallic Edged Ribbon, also from the up coming Spring Summer Mini Catalogue.
  • The image panel was stamped with several images from the *Parisian Beauty stamp set in Petal Pink, Memento Tuxedo Black, Sahara Sand and Soft Suede, all stamped off once.
  • Over that, after using the Embossing Buddy, the *Eiffel Tower Stamp was inked up in Versamark ink and stamped on the same panel and covered with a mixture of Silver and Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, with Silver being the dominant colour in the mix. This gives a warmer tone than just silver, thus creating a bit of a champagne look.
  • The sentiment, also from the *Parisian Beauty stamp set, is stamped in Petal Pink on a 3/4" strip, cropped and the end flagged. One corner is worked with the bone folder until the paper plies can be separated and curled separately.
  • The edges of the image panel and the sentiment strip are sponged with Soft  Suede ink and they are mounted on the card front.
  • New *Champagne Rhinestones are added for the finishing touch.
*These products are from the upcoming 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Mini Catalogue and won't be available for customer purchase until Jan. 3/20.
