Irresistible Blooms Bundle for As You See It Challenge #293

irresistible blooms bundle for aysi #293 1

I'm really excited to introduce to you a new suite of products that will be available for you to see in the Online Store only starting March 1st. This is the Hello, Irresistible Suite and today I'm using some of it for the As You See It Challenge #293 - Recipe in Pinks & Pearls. This is a Recipe Challenge, as you might have guessed from the title and here is the challenge banner:

challenge #293

This challenge included a couple of different recipe elements from what we've used before. I was the host of this challenge and wanted to move us away from the usual without being too difficult, so I included distressed paper and pearls as ingredients along with shades of pink, blossoms and an embossing folder. I was definitely thinking shabby chic, but ended up coming up with a slightly different concept, myself:

  • On a card base of Flirty Flamingo, I placed a layer of Basic White cardstock, 5 1/4" x 4", embossed using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and distressed around the edges.
  • On that I adhered a layer of the Hello, Irresistible DSP, cut at 4 1/2" x 3 14", and distressed again around the edges.
  • Using the Irresistible Blooms Dies, I die cut the embellished lines you see at the bottom from Basic White cardstock and glued them on across both layers, trimming them at the ends of the white.
  • On a piece of Fluid 100 watercolour paper, I embossed two of the smaller flowers and the 1 large flower from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set along with the two sets of leaves with White embossing powder.
  • Using a wet-on-wet technique I watercoloured the blooms with Flirty Flamingo in different strengths and for the large bloom, I used a bit of Polished Pink as well.
  • After drying, I painted the leaves shades of Soft Sea Foam and dried them.
  • I used the coordinating dies to die cut all the pieces and added them to the DSP panel with glue dots and dimensionals.
  • For the pearls, I used a combination of Pastel Pearls and Iridescent Pearls.
  • Finally, I took a length of White Seam Binding Ribbon and coloured it using a Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Marker (alcohol marker) and tied a double finger bow and attached it.

Greatest Journey Silhouettes for New at SU

new at su blog hop

Welcome to our February NEW AT SU! Blog Hop! We love to share creative card ideas from Stampin' Up! with you. Today we have projects featuring the bundles from the 2023 Jan/Apr Mini Catalogue and the little extra twist is that we can't use any Basic White cardstock in our projects!! I chose to use the Greatest Journey Bundle from the Enjoy the Journey Suite and here's how it turned out:

I mostly used the beautiful Enjoy the Journey DSP and the Greatest Journey Dies, but I did emboss the sentiments from the Greatest Journey stamp set and stamp the tree images to die cut as well! There is a great stamp image for the stars that I used as well, embossing with White Embossing Powder. Here's each card in detail:

  • Starting with the Basic Black card base, I added a 5 1/4" x 4" panel of Melon Mambo cardstock and a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of the Enjoy the Journey DSP in the Melon Mambo/Pumpkin Pie design, cutting so that the moon is in the piece.
  • Before adhering the DSP, I heat embossed the sentiment at the top using Black embossing powder. The sentiment is from the Greatest Journey stamp set.
  • Using Basic Black cardstock and the Greatest Journey dies, I die cut a ridge with the edge piece and the hiker with the lantern, which I cut off and instead attached the hiking pole which I also die cut.
  • I added the ridge and the hiker to the card front using black Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals to add some dimension to the card.
  • I coloured one of the compass icon stickers with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker and added it to the card front.
Here's the next one:

  • This card was constructed basically the same way but I used a Starry Sky base with a Coastal Cabana layer and die cut my pieces from Starry Sky, Coastal Cabana and Highland Heather.
  • To make the lantern light up, I traced the outside shape of it on Very Vanilla cardstock (no Basic White used) and fussy cut it out and glued it to the back of the lantern. I trimmed around the edge.
  • The moon is die cut from Very Vanilla as well.
  • The stars and the sentiment are stamped with images from the Greatest Journey stamp set and heat embossed using White embossing powder.
  • The rock and the camper are mounted with dimensionals as before.
  • I didn't colour in the icon sticker this time.

  • This card was a Mint Macaron base and Basic Black layer, but the DSP was a little bigger at 4" x 5" to get the right perspective.
  • The trees were stamped with Garden Green ink on Garden Green cardstock with an image from the bundle and die cut.
  • The sentiment is also from the Greatest Journey stamp set.
  • The biker and the rock were die cut with dies from the Greatest Journey dies, and adhered with dimensionals as before.
