When I attended the virtual Creative Escape two weekends ago, we were given various challenges throughout the event. One of them was a colour challenge and the colours we were asked to create a project with were the following:
I was attracted to those colours right away and knew that I wanted to take part in that challenge. As time was somewhat limited, it couldn't be an elaborate design, but I thought it would be perfect for another Beautiful Moments image and a chance to enhance it with my new Ornate Layers Dies. Here's how it turned out:
- On my card base of Pretty Peacock, I added a panel of Crumb Cake, die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle dies, quickly becoming one of the staple die sets that I now use.
- Then I wanted to use a more decorative frame for the main image so I got out the So Sweetly Stitched Dies and used the largest Scalloped Rectangle for the Pool Party backing.
- I stamped the image in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White cardstock and coloured it very quickly with the Pool Party Stampin' Blends Combo Markers.
- The sentiment, also from Beautiful Moments, is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. This would make a really nice Mother's Day card, if you changed out the sentiment, though.
- The final touch was a coloured Rhinestone, a Pool Party one from the Holiday Rhinestones and a Pretty Peacock one from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones. There is also a tie of Braided Linen Trim around the Crumb Cake and Pool Party layers. I pre-tied it on a Clear Block D, then cut it and attached it to the project.
