Sweet Little Somebunny Easter Cards

When you have six grandkids, aged 6 and under, you have to get fast and creative with the Easter cards. That's where my Stamparatus really came in handy, especially with this 3 step stamping set, Sweet Little Something! This little stuffed bunny is meant for new baby cards or Easter cards so I whipped up a set of six Easter cards and once I had the stamps placed properly on my Stamparatus, it was a breeze stamping the rest. I have 2 little girls and 4 little boys to make cards for so it was 2 with a pink bunny and 4 with the teal bunny on them. Have a closer look here:

  • The colours I chose to do the two bunnies in were as follows: for the teal bunny, I used Tranquil Tide, Emerald Envy and Bermuda Bay; for the pink bunny I used Flirty Flamingo, Blushing Bride and Powder Pink.

  • The card base was the Whisper White Notecards and Envelopes cards. These were ready to go, which was nice, but the surface area is smaller and easier to decorate. The size of the notecards are 3 1/2" x 5".
  • The background papers are from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack, which feature floral designs in all the 2017 - 2019 In Colours, including Tranquil Tide and Powder Pink.

Today is the last day to get me your orders if you want to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration, and tomorrow is the last day to submit your own orders through my On-Line Store.

Please get your orders to me by 2 pm today if you want me to submit them. If you are shopping online, you have until 11 pm on Saturday to get them in, but I caution you not to wait until the last moment! Please don't be like this sad customer of mine last SAB time:

Here are the little people that these cards are going to:

Parker and Jackson, who will be visiting with us for Easter,

Along with Kesten and Cedar, who are staying the week after Easter, too, and who Grandma and Gramps get to babysit for two days while Mom and Dad get their first break away from the kids since Kesten was born!!

And Wyatt and Pippa, who can't be with us this Easter, but who will be in our hearts anyway.

I can't believe how fast they are all growing! They get more fun by the year!

Adult Easter Cards - Quick and Easy

I don't mail out a lot of Easter cards, but I do send our daughters and their families little Easter gifts and I like to make cards to go along with them. This year two of the three families were with us for Easter and these are the cards we made the adults. Check back here on Friday for the cards I made for the grandkids.

These two samples were made using Whisper White Notecards & Envelopes as the card base, which makes them a little easier to complete, since the notecard size is 3 1/2" x 5".  The background Designer series paper is from the now retired Subtles Designer Series Paper Stacks, using the stripe pattern in Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz.

Here's a close up look at them:

  • The Wisteria Wonder card on the left uses 3 stamp sets: Birthday Blossoms for the flowers, You're Inspiring for the sentiment and Hold on to Hope for the cross.
  • The Pansy Punch is used to punch out the large blossom shape.
  • The card on the right just uses the You're Inspiring stamp set for all the images and sentiments. They are stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that they can be coloured in with the Stampin' Blends Alcohol markers - bloth shades of Daffodil Delight and both shades of Old Olive, and the light shade of Crumb Cake. Due to long lead times with the manufacturer of Stampin' Blends and unprecedented demand for them, Stampin' Up! has had to remove them from the available to order list until about the end of May, in order to catch up on backorders and to stock up enough to meet demand, so you'll have to be patient for awhile if you don't have yours yet.
  • Both cards were finished off with Glitter Enamel Dots.

Friday is the last day to get me your orders if you want to take advantage of Sale-A-Bration, and Saturday is the last day to submit your own orders through my On-Line Store.

You've Got This 3D for Colour Throwdown

Happy Monday, Stampers! There is a lovely colour challenge on at Color Throwdown this week! (They always have lovely colour challenges, but this one was especially stunning!)

Peach, Black and White is one of those combinations that make you sit up and take notice!. I really like the inspiration photo here, especially the bold black and white checks. I wanted to do some watercolouring, so I chose You've Got This as my stamp set with the beautiful floral image that is just perfect for watercolouring. But more than that, I wanted to do some 3D layering of my flower as well, and this particular image gives the possibility of doing that. This is how it turned out:

  • I used an Aqua Painter with Peekaboo Peach ink from the ink pad lid for the image and a little Flirty Flamingo for the deep shadows. If you look hard you can see the 3D petals in the front, but I'll show you a better photo for that a little further down the page.
  • I stamped and fussy cut two flowers, identical images, so that I could cut some of the front petals from the second flower and add them to the corresponding areas on the front flower with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The missing areas on the second flower are covered up by the first flower. Here's a photo that helps you to see the 3 dimensional effect a little better:
