Friendly Hello for As You See It Challenge #269

friendly hello for aysi #269

Did you know that there are only 4 more days including today left of Sale-A-Bration?!! Only 4 more days to get your hands on all the rewards in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. One of the Level 2 Rewards, (meaning you need to spend $120 to earned it) is Friendly Hello stamp set and Designer Series Paper.

I'm using it here to create my Design Team sample for the As You See It Challenge for today:

challenge #269

It's a Recipe Challenge called Recipe for Thinking of You! All the elements seen here on the challenge banner must be included in your project, but how you do that is up to you.

Here's how I combined them:

  • On the thick Basic White cardstock base, a panel of regular Basic White has been embossed using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.
  • One of the two 4 1/4" x 3" panels that are mounted askew has a 4 1/8" x 2 7/8" panel of the Friendly Hello DSP in a Pool Party shade adhered to it.
  • On the other, the same sized Basic White cardstock was stamped using the Friendly Hello stamp set and coloured using Stampin' Blends markers in pastel shades.
  • The sentiment is from the other Level 2 reward, a sentiment stamp set called Special Moments. The die cut part of the recipe challenge comes from the label which is from the Eden dies.
  • The twine or ribbon is some Linen Thread wrapped around the sentiment and tied in a bow.

I had a hard time deciding which of two cards to use. The other card, seen above, uses the Tulip Dies on the Basic White front panel. Everything else is the same.

  • Die cutting tulip petals from a Pool Party design of the Flowering Fields DSP and from the Flirty Flamingo and So Saffron designs from the Simply Marbleous DSP and stems and leaves from Pear Pizzazz cardstock, three tulips were constructed on the card front.
  • Other than that and the placement of the sentiment, the card design is the same as the previous card.

Grassy Grove Bundle for New at SU February Blog Hop

new at su blog hop banner 1

Welcome to our February NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are featuring the 2022 Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue  products. I'm highlighting the Grassy Grove bundle along with the New Horizons 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

This was the first time I've used this diorama technique to make this 3D card, but the Grove Dies that are bundled with the Grassy Grove stamp set just begged for this kind of treatment so I had to give it a try. It is a standard card size back and front, but the sides are accordion folded to allow strips of cardstock between the folds on each side to act as layers for adding elements to the diorama. The background paper is from the New Horizons 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, quick and easy and perfectly suited for this job.

The deer, both die cuts and stamped image, the deciduous trees and the evergreens that are hard to see here, are from the Grassy Grove stamp set and Grove dies. The front panel is also a die cut from the Grove Dies. You can die cut it from whatever size rectangle of cardstock you choose (as long as it's larger than the die.) The die doesn't die cut the outer edge. My plan was to appear as if you are in the dark deep woods looking towards a sunlit clearing.

The sentiments are from Grassy Grove as well and are stamped on bits of wood grain DSP from the In Good Taste DSP.

The measurements of the main base are 4 1/4" x 10 1/2" scored at each end on the long side a 1/2", 1", 1 1/2", 2" and 2 1/2". You fold on the score lines accordion style as you can see in these photos and attach strips of cardstock between them. Make the cardstock 5 3/8" long, so that the card will fold flat and not buckle when you flatten it. Also the DSP for the back panel should be 4 1/4" x 5 3/8". The front is held together strongly by a double narrow frame of cardstock glued together, 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", with the second largest Stitched Rectangle die cut from the middle.
