Well, it's a fabulous Friday! The blossoms are all out, the weather is warm, Covid-19 is on the wane for now, where I live, and I've seen the new 2020/21 Annual Catalogue and I will never be the same!! More on that later.
But it is Friday, and that means it's another As You See It Challenge and this week, it's the long anticipated Speed Challenge (in some minds anticipated = dreaded) And the theme for this one, instead of a colour, is Flowers!! So basically, you have to make a card quickly and it has to have flowers on it in some way! Here's our Challenge Banner:
So what kind of time are we looking at? Well, you can plan it all out ahead of time and get out your equipment and supplies, but the second you start cutting, stamping, embossing etc., you must start the clock and you have 10 minutes to complete your card!
I used the Best Dressed Designer Series 6" x 6" Paper and the So Sentimental Stamp Set with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies for mine and I was able to finish in 8 minutes and 45 seconds, so well within the time limit. Mind you, I kept mine very simple. No fancy embossing or colouring, but I wanted you to see that you could make a nice looking card in a short amount of time using the KISS principle - Keep It Simple, Stamper!
- I went with a Purple Posy card base. It's a colour I avoided for quite a while because of the difficulty with the ink, but wish I hadn't because it's such a lovely pastel. Mind you, spring is the perfect time to use it, so I guess it was just waiting for it's time to come around.
- I used a sheet of the Best Dressed Designer Series 6" x 6" paper on top of the base with more pastel flowers, sketched over in ink by the designer.
- In order for the focal point to show up, I added a small panel of Whisper White, so it wouldn't get too busy with all the floral designs on top of one another.
- I stamped the sentiment from the So Sentimental stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on more Purple Posy cardstock and die cut it using the coordinating Stitched So Sweetly Dies.
- I used another sheet of the Best Dressed DSP and fussy cut two flowers from it, adding them to the label with Glue Dots, then I adhered the whole label to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals!
- The final touch was a few Champagne Rhinestones.
I can't believe it's that time again! Time for the retiring list for products in the 2019/2020 Annual Catalogue and the 2020 Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue! Didn't we just get them? I don't know! The older I get..... I haven't had near enough time to play with some of these!
I have altered these lists a bit so that they are not so overwhelming for you. I have taken out all of the bundles, because most of you know by now that the bundles always retire with every catalogue. Bundle prices are only good with one catalogue. And it gets confusing because the products in the bundles may or may not be retiring.
And I have taken out the French sets, as the entirety of my customer base does not order the French sets. That pares down an overwhelming list into something much more palatable.
So I will give you a link for these lists because they are much too large a file to load right onto this post. I will tell you that there are many significant discounts from between 40% - 60% for some of the products. The other thing you should know is that these products are available only while supplies last for everything but stamp sets! So don't wait too long if there is something you really need to get, because it may sell out.

This is so pretty!! I LOVE that light purple color and the use of the fussy cut flowers. Lovely design.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nora! I'm just starting to use Purple Posy!
ReplyDeleteI love this Purple Posy colour and have only just started looking at it too! Your card is beautiful Heather, with a soft dreamy feel. A very good idea to use DSP as the basis of your design! Vicky x
