Timeless Tropical Birthday for Freshly Made Sketches

Is anyone else finding it hard to keep to a schedule during this quarantine? I find myself struggling a bit to focus on deadlines because there aren't as many of them. Nevertheless, I enjoyed working on this card yesterday, as an entry in Freshly Made Sketches latest challenge:

The sketch is a bit unusual but I immediately thought of the Timeless Tropical stamp set for the circles on the right and lots of texture for the divided background. Here's what ensued:

  • On the Mango Melody card base I used some of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper that is part of the Tropical Oasis Suite in the Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue on page 39. I backed it with a slightly larger piece of Early Espresso.  Early Espresso - 5 1/4" x 4 ", DSP - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
  • I added a 1 3/4" x 5 1/8" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock that had been embossed using the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. I masked the join with some Braided Burlap Trim.
  • The large hibiscus flower was stamped in Grapefruit Grove ink and then coloured in using the Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Combo, the Mango Melody Combo and the Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends. The smaller plumeria flowers are stamped in Mango Melody, while the leaves are stamped in Old Olive.
  • The sentiment, which is from the same Timeless Tropical stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso.
  • The flowers and leaves were die cut using the In the Tropics dies which coordinate with the stamp set.
  • One of the Tropical Oasis Trinkets adorns the bottom of the trim.
