Something New for As You See It Challenges!

It's ironic that the theme for As You See It Challenges #041 is "Something New" - my newest crafting supplies.

I happen to be in the throes of clearing out all my retired stamp sets and accessories to make room for the new stuff and also to price and prepare for my Rubber Rummage Sale at my Catalogue Launch Party on Saturday! Interesting word, "throes".  Here's the Oxford Dictionary definition:  intense or violent pain and struggle, especially accompanying birth, death, or great change!  I think this is a very appropriate word to use in this situation.  There is intense pain and struggle when I have to get rid of some old friends like, "sniff", En Francais or Clockworks.

However, I will survive and get over it and one way to do that is by playing with all my new stamp sets and paper and ribbon from the new 2014/15 Annual Catalogue.  It was a little hard to pick out my NEWEST craft supply, because, as a demonstrator and a blogger, I had to order a bunch of new stamps and paper for my business. (Of course for my business!  You didn't think it was because I just wanted to play with them, did you?)  So, instead of newest, I picked some paper and a new stamp set I hadn't used yet.

  • Of all the new In Colours, Tangelo Twist is one that I haven't used much yet.  It's a very vivid orange and I find myself looking for coordinating colours that tone it down a little.  But I do like it paired with these colours, Hello Honey, Early Espresso and Smoky Slate.
  • The Design Series Paper here is Confetti Celebration and this one design is Tangelo Twist with Whisper White.  It works very well for this project.
  • I have a son-in-law who loves biking and who is happiest when out on a long ride, so I ordered Life's Adventure as a Hostess Reward, because I knew I would have a use for the bike.  Yes, yes, I know it's a girl's bike, but I prefer to think of it as a step-through frame rather than get all worked up about male or female. I carefully hand cut it out and adhered it with Stampin' Dimensionals to make it the focal point.
