Sharing the Sorrow

I had a post already to go for this morning, but I changed it late last night, in honour of all the victims of the latest mass shooting in Washington, DC.  I don't know when the madness will end, but I suspect it won't be soon.  We can only weep as we hear the stories from the survivors and collectively try to ease the grief of the families by standing in solidarity with them.

It's strange that I have had to make two sympathy cards in a row. Yesterday's was created with no need in mind, but a friend's grandmother just passed away that evening, so I had one I could share with them.  Then this.

I used the MOJO Monday Challenge #311 Sketch for the layout of this card.

You'll probably recognize the Wetlands Stamp Set used here as I'm seeing it all over the net these days, and for good reason.  The sentiment is from Thoughts and Prayers.  I love the Sweater Weather DSP with the Wetlands Stamp Set because it looks kind of like marshy grasses.  And I've used this Smoky Slate/Soft Sky colour palette before except for the soft pop of the So Saffron circle.

I don't want to post my usual recipe here, but I just wanted this post to reflect my sorrow at yet another senseless tragedy, and to invite all of you to pray for sanity and more compassion in our world!  Thanks for reading.
