As promised, I'm trying out a number of different Mother's Day designs over the next couple of weeks, hoping to come up with one that would be perfect for you to make for your mom! This one is more trendy with the chalkboard designs and the sequin swag on the side, but also pretty with the flower images and delicate with the eyelet edging! The layout comes from Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #182:
- The stamp set I used is called Bloom with Hope. It is a Hostess set so you can only get it through hostess rewards. You can host a workshop at your house or mine, or submit your own order of $200 or more to get hostess rewards. The sketched designs work well with the ColorBox Chalk Ink pads. Here I've used Rose Coral and Yellow Citrus.
- The paper is our new Chalkboard Paper which has a chalkboard finish on one side and works perfectly with the Chalkboard ink. I created the eyelet edges using the Finishing Touches Edgelits. I don't know if you can see it, but under each eyelet edge, I've added some Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon peeking through the holes in the eyelet.
- The sentiment is from the Mother's Day stamp set Sweet Laughter but it comes as one long line. To make it work for this card I masked the Mother's Day and inked up and stamped the Happy on top, then cleaned my stamp and masked the Happy and inked up and stamped the Mother's Day. A piece of cellophane tape works fine to mask the parts you don't want to show.
- The little swag on top is made from Venetian Crochet Trim and Gold Sequin Trim pieces folded in half and tied with a piece of Blushing Bride Baker's Twine. I added it to the card with Glue Dots.
