Gold Soiree Delicate for As You See It Challenges

It's Friday (as if you didn't know) and welcome again to another installment of As You See It Challenges! This week I found it a bit challenging, but after all, what's a challenge for? It was the symmetry of the sketch that gave me a problem, but when I found this lovely background DSP from the Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper, I was inspired to slog on and come up with something worthy of it's beauty.

Here's the sketch:

  • Isn't that colour scheme from the DSP the epitome of springtime? I love the Pear Pizzazz, Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe together with the gold foil! We have had just the loveliest early spring here and I can't believe that all the blossoms are out and the grass needs cutting!
  • To soften the center squares I rounded one outside corner each. Another time, I might have tried to round just two opposite corners. I also placed a Tea Lace Doily behind them all to add to the delicate look of that paper, and to echo the element in the DSP on the bottom right, also from Gold Soiree. The square on the bottom right is popped up on Dimensionals again to offset the symmetry of the design and the top right and bottom left squares are smaller than the other two, for the same reason.
  • The Gold Foil Sheet in the upper right was embossed with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder. I used more of the gold foil on the banner on the bottom right. Sweet Sadie Washi Tape at the bottom of the upper left square adds a touch of Pistachio Pudding echoing the Pistachio Pudding flowers you can see in the background panel.
  • The sentiment is from Wetlands and fits just perfectly in the ticket from the Ticket Duo Punch, which in turn, is just the right size for the square. The butterfly, if you look closely, is actually double, with one the same size punched out from a Gold Foil Sheet with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. The butterfly stamp is from Papillon Potpourri.
