Well, today is a big important post! As well as a super easy but cute Mother's Day card for you, using the Sweet Laughter Stamp set for Pals Paper Arts, it is also the day that customers love and demonstrators dread: "Dunh! Dunh! Dunh! The Retired List comes out!"
Each year, in order to make room for a slew of new products, some of the existing products must bid us a graceful farewell! Usually the list comes with discounts for the customers, but there is also an element of risk, for the accessories on the list are often only available while supplies last. Therein lies the dread for the demonstrators, because it is imperative to keep up-to-date on the day-to-day supply of what is still available, in order to pass on the info to you, the customer. Also, we must keep up with all the new pricing as well. My best advice is to act quickly. Last year, many things were out of stock within the first week. This year, stamp sets will still be in production until May 26, so will be available likely until the new catalogue comes out. If there is something that you want on the Retired List, let me order it for you right away. Email or call me soon.

This is another in the series of Mother's Day cards I am presenting with the hopes that one of them will be just right for your mom! This one uses a layout from Pals Paper Arts Challenge #248:
I decided to use some colours I haven't used for awhile: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla:
- The adorable image on this card is from the Sweet Laughter Stamp set and I stamped it on the Very Vanilla with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, then coloured in the image with Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive. I have a confession to make though. I used my Blendabilities which you can't get now. I could return them but I still love using them, so I think I will do that until they run out all together. I'm hoping that we get some more alcohol markers soon, but it will likely be a couple of years yet.
- The Pumpkin Pie background is dry embossed with the Happy Heart embossing folder which adds the perfect texture to the card.
- All the sentiments are from the Sweet Laughter Stamp set. The one under the flower is part of the same stamp as the flower. The bottom sentiment is the second half of the greeting, but separate from the other. It was stamped in Memento ink and punched with the Word Window Punch, with a backing from the same punch in Crumb Cake cardstock.

Heather, this is precious! Thanks for playing along with the PPA sketch challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteGreat card, Heather! I especially love the palette you chose and the embossing -- these both help to make the stamped images pop! Thanks for joining us at Pals Paper Arts!
