I don't usually post on Sunday nights, but I had a lovely day at church, then at a church BBQ down by the lake, and still time to design a thank you card for some guys who helped to lay a new floor in one of the rooms at our church. I wanted to enter it in Our Creative Corner's Challenge for this week. The challenge is to create a masculine card using their sketch and as an option to make it monochromatic. Here's my take on it:
I used one of my new favourite stamp sets, Clockworks and heat embossed the main image with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder. The background stamps for this set are amazing, and the gears so appeal to my steampunk heart, great for a masculine card.
I used Soft Suede card stock as a base and added DSP from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and three strips of Early Espresso and Cajun Craze card stock. The main panel used the background stamps, stamped off, in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. The gears were inked up in Soft Suede and the pocket watch itself was stamped in Versamark, then embossed. The main image panel and the sentiment, which is from the Lacy and Lovely set, were sponged in Soft Suede ink. The three strips each bear a Metallic Brad.
Fun to do, and didn't take long to make, so I wanted to post tonight and enter the challenge.
It was, as I said, a gorgeous day!
By the way, don't forget to enter my draw for Blog Candy:
Here's the link! At last count, I had 9649 hits on my blog. I will be drawing a name for a winner when I reach 10,000 hits. Don't leave entering too late, and be disappointed!
