What's New at SU Blog Hop with the Well Dressed Stamp Set

I'm so pleased that you are joining us for our hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ With Exciting Ideas to share with you. Our theme this month is Sale-A-Bration products and I am focusing on the second release items for my blog post, specifically the Well Dressed and Tags in Bloom stamp sets and the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper.

I decided to go for a masculine card for this month's Blog Hop and there's no better stamp set for that than the second release SAB reward set, Well Dressed, which features a number of male articles of clothing looking like they are from the 1930s or 1940s. And even though the design I chose from the Flowering Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper is meant to represent flowers, it definitely floral, it still has a more graphic look and works on a masculine card, especially when it is treated with a variegated brayered colouring. Here's a closer look:

  • For the background sheet of Flowering Foils, this particular design was brayered using the Sponge Brayer, starting with the Daffodil Delight at the bottom, and working up to Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and finally, Pretty Peacock. Each new colour was overlapped with the previous colour and blended together.
  • On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, backed by some Coastal Cabana, several of the images from Well Dressed were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. They were stamped so that they all fit inside the square of cardstock well. This was mounted on it's backing and then both onto the card front.
  • The tag outline is stamped in Memento ink using one of the tag outlines from the Tags in Bloom stamp set, and the sentiment inside it, from the same set, is stamped in Pretty Peacock. It is punched out using the coordinating Label Me Lovely punch from the Jan/Jun Mini Catalogue.
  • The Braided Burlap Trim is added at the bottom and the tag is added with adhesive and Stampin' Dimensionals at the top and bottom. Also a couple of silver Designer Elements look snappy on the right hand side.
