12 Weeks of Christmas and New MDS Deals!

I've got another Christmas Card for you this week.  I made this at the Creative Escape Retreat last weekend, where I had time to fool around and come up with a new background technique.

This one uses a stamp set from last year that's not in the catalogue, but still available to order!  It's called Snowflake Soiree and you just need to know where to find it!  As with all my 12 Weeks of Christmas projects, I won't leave a project recipe here on my blog, but the tutorial is free for all my subscribers.  If you would like to find out how to create this card, just sign up below to be on my newsletter list and you will receive a copy of the tutorial by email.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2013!  I always look forward to new starts and new plans!  I don't make resolutions because I've not had a great track record at keeping them!  Tell me I'm not alone in this!

I wanted to wish all of my readers the very best for 2013!  May it be your happiest, healthiest and most prosperous year yet!

As promised, I have some blog candy to give away, to celebrate.  Celebrate the New Year, celebrate my birthday month, and to celebrate Stampin' Up's 25th Anniversary!  Woo hoo!  Big Party!  I have three packages of goodies to go.  (Only to readers who live in Canada, unfortunately, as I can only ship in Canada.)

Here's the prizes:  Third Prize:

An unopened pack of Noel Notes Simply Sent (pg. 17 in the Holiday Mini), a partially used pack of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (pg. 20 in the Holiday Mini), and the Bold Snowflake Single Stamp.  The Festival of Prints stack still has 37 of the 48 sheets of double sided designs.

                             Second Prize:

Partial packs of Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock (5 1/5 sheets and 9 1/2 sheets out of 12 sheets respectively) and an unused Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps Holiday Pack.

                         First Prize:

A Snowflake Soiree clear mount stamp set (pg. 5 in the Holiday Mini) - brand new, a partially used pack of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (pg. 20 in the Holiday Mini) - 38 out of 48 double sided sheets; Partial packs of DSP - Be of Good Cheer -11 out of 12 sheets, Snow Festival - 5 out of 12 sheets, and Candlelight Christmas -  7 out of 12 sheets.

Now how are you entered in the draw??  You need to do 2 things.

1.  Leave a comment about your plans and expectations for 2013 right here on this blog post.

2.   Join my site.  See the little box in the right hand margin, that tells how many followers a blog  has?  Well, mine looks a little pathetic and embarrassing.  I know there are more of you who read my blog.  Do you think you could click on "Join this Site" and help to make it look respectable?  If you have already done that, then you just need to leave a comment.

I will draw 3 names on January 14th, when I get back from Leadership Conference in Orlando.  So you've got lots of time to leave a comment!  Looking forward to hearing from all of you.

New Video

It's SOOO late.  I stayed up chatting and previewing the new cattie with my upline and sidelines!  Oh, my heavens - it is amazing!!! and huge!!!  There are so many cute, new products and papers and stamps and embellishments!  I can hardly wait to start ordering in December so I can start to show you all the neat things!  You're gonna love it!  Let me know if you want to have one mailed to you.  And you've got to become a demonstrator, so you get these awesome first peeks!

But I finally finished a new video, a tutorial for making Christmas illuminated easel cards like these:

So here is the video.  Enjoy!

Christmas Cascade

Halloween was very non-eventful here.  We live on a busy street, with a steep driveway and lots of stairs, which I'm sure is very daunting for the would-be trick or treater!  I didn't even get to enjoy my two little grandsons on their first Halloween, as they live so far away.

But I got to see their costumes on Skype.  What would we do without Skype?  They were irritated to indifferent to wearing a costume this year.  I'm sure next year will be a different story!  Here they are:  Parker as Harry Potter and Kesten as a little fox!

Adorable, aren't they?

I have a card for you today!  Wonders!  It's a design I've planned for my Technique Night in November, where the theme is Fancy Folds.  This is one that I came across in my searches called a Waterfall Fold.

The way it works is that you pull down on the tab with the ribbon and the small panels with the snowflakes and ornaments on them fold up one by one and disappear down behind the tab.  Here's a couple of shots in action:

If you want to know more about the technique and how to make this card and two other fancy fold cards, then you've got to attend my Technique Night class this month.  You have two options:  Wednesday, November 7 or Thursday, November 8, both at my house at 7:00 pm.  You can register here for Wednesday or here for Thursday.
