Speedy Gingerbread Cookies for As You See It Challenge #265

 It's time once more for the dreaded As You See It Challenges' Speed Stamping Challenge and this time Design Team member Jane came up with the great theme of Snowflakes! 

As I considered what I could do to make a striking design with snowflakes in less than 10 minutes, I came across the Gingerbread & Peppermint 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, which just happens to have some gingerbread cookies on it in snowflake designs. I thought that it would be different, colourful and fun, plus I could 'easily' fussy cut those little dudes out and slap them on the card in no time flat!

The fussy cutting took quite a bit longer than I thought it would and couple that with embossing the sentiment in white on the Kraft paper, I only had 37 seconds left, for a total time of 9m23s.

• I've always loved kraft/Real Red/Old Olive/white as a Christmas colour palette so this ticked all my boxes.
• I haven't found a lot of occasion to use the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP and time is running out on that, so this was the perfect occasion.
• I committed two no-nos when you're doing a speed stamping challenge: fussy cutting and heat embossing! I did get away with it, but it didn't leave a lot of time for anything else. Keep that in mind when you do your speed challenge entry!
• The sentiment is from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set, heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.
• The fussy cut gingerbread snowflakes are popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals and topped with Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Speed Stamping with Festive Farmhouse for As You See It Challenges

Oh, I love to hate them, but As You See It Challenges keeps tormenting me with them - those speed stamping challenges, and another has rolled around this week! This one is entitled "Vitesse Red" and it's all about stamping quickly in shades of red with a few neutrals thrown in. You really can't produce masterpieces in under 10 minutes, but you can get a really nice looking card, if you take some time to think things through ahead of time and gather your materials first. Luckily, at this time of year, there is no shortage of reds around. Here's the banner for As You See It Challenge #188:

And here's what I accomplished in 8 minutes and 3 seconds:

• The beautiful plaid paper is from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalogue. Something about plaid is so Christmassy! The shade of red is Cherry Cobbler on a Cherry Cobbler card base.
• The sentiment, stamped in the same shade of red, is from the Peaceful Noel stamp set and punched out with the Pretty Label Punch. It is backed with a Cherry Cobbler panel punched with the Everyday Label Punch.
• Using the Sprig Punch, I've made 4 sprigs of the Merry Merlot Glimmer Paper from the Joyous Noel 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper collection and attached those to the underside of the sentiment panels, and then adding some Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the panels over all those.\
• I added some adhesive to the front of the card, about 3 stripes of it where you see the sentiment panels and coiled some of the White Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine and secured it to the card front on that adhesive. Then I anchored it in place with the sentiment panels after removing the films on the dimensionals and pressing them into place.
