Playing Around with Forever Lovely and Online Extravaganza

After my Dashing Deer Discovery class this afternoon, I got out some of my new Occasions Catalogue products to play with for awhile. The first set I tried out was the Forever Lovely Bundle* which includes the Forever Lovely stamp set* and  the Lovely Flowers Edgelilt dies*. I have to say that there is a learning curve associated with this bundle. I had no clear idea from just looking at it what it could do and I just had to play around with it and experiment to see what could be accomplished. The result here is a bit of a mishmash. There's too much going on and next time, I'd focus on one aspect or another, but I did learn a lot about what coordinates with what and how they all fit together.

  •  I went with Crumb Cake as my base colour and Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo and Soft Seafoam as the other colours, some of which are from the palette of the coordinating All My Love Designer Series Paper. Anytime I can use Crumb Cake with pinks and reds is okay with me!
  • I love the watercolour look of the stamped images. It reminds me of the First Frost stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue.
  • It was a bit tricky to align the foliage stamp with the multiple flower stamp in the two-step stamping that you see under the die cut outs of the edgelit. Tricky, but if you take your time and match up all the points you can get it to work. The Stamparatus is perfect for this step! You can line up the stamp before inking it that way.
  • The edgelit lines up perfectly with the stamped image however, and it's not tough to do. It does cut out some of the foliage though and a flower and some hearts, which is why I chose to add that piece on the back piece of the card which opens like a file folder.

  • I think, if I had had time to redo some of it, I would have made the rose swatch in the bottom right corner a little more simple. It looks a bit busy as it is, but I was having fun with all the die cuts from the Lovely Flowers dies. I love the look of some of the foliage dies. I may have gotten a little carried away.
  • I used the 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon along with some Flirty Flamingo ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack* together to keep the card closed with a bow.
