Hello Cupcake for The Paper Players

I'm still fighting the virus I brought back with me from Orlando, but I felt a little better today than I did yesterday, so making some progress. I felt like I could get down in my Craft Cave and create, and since my Product Purchase Premiere arrived on Friday, I decided to make something with some of the new products and give you a sneak peek!

My son-in-law has a birthday this week so I wanted to come up with a card for him. Most of my new stuff is flowery and feminine except for the Geared Up Garage Suite* and my son-in-law is definitely NOT into cars at all, so my only other option from my new stuff was this cupcake set called Hello Cupcake*! I know he loves food, so this set is perfect. Not only that but The Paper Players have a Clean and Simple Challenge on this week with Sweet Treats as the theme. I love killing two birds with one stone! Here's the banner:

And while we were in Orlando, we were challenged to think a lot about focussing on attracting brand new stampers to our hobby by posting projects that were mostly inked images and paper under the hashtag #simplestamping. This card fits that description as well:

  • On my card base of Whisper White Thick cardstock I glued a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper* in Lemon Lime Twist. This DSP comes in 6" x 6" pieces so it needed to be trimmed to fit.
  • On a 3 1/5" x 4 3/4" piece of regular Whisper White cardstock I stamped my 4 part image from the Hello Cupcake* stamp set: Crumb Cake for the cupcake holder, Early Espresso for the cake part, Lemon Lime Twist for the icing and Early Espresso for the chocolate sprinkles. It is fairly easy to position the stamps against one another because they are photopolymer.
  • The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped in Early Espresso ink up in the top left corner. The final touch was the self-adhesive sequins called Gingham Gala Sequins* as they coordinate with the colours in the Gingham Gala DSP*.
