Today's card is for As You See It Challenge #341 which is a Recipe Challenge, which requires you to make a card using all five elements in the recipe. Our team mate, Jan C., came up with this beauty, and it has been fun to work with:
I was thinking spring and pastel colours, so I decided to use a new bundle from the Jan - Apr Mini Catalogue, called the Memorable Blooms bundle. Here's my first result:
I don't mind telling you, I had a bit of a struggle with it! I knew I wanted to use the hexagon die to make an opening and to emboss the large flower swag and colour it in, but I didn't know whether or not to leave the card front all white or to add some of the Wildflower Birthday DSP to the front as well as behind the hexagonal opening. I also couldn't decide whether to emboss the flower swag in white or gold. Here is the other option. Which do you like better?
In the end, I opted for the less busy, white one, but I think I liked the flowers embossed in gold better.
Did someone say Sale-A-Bration? Well, I heard that Stampin' Up!® has added a bunch of new Sale-A-Bration Rewards. Take a look:

Hi, Heather! IMHO both the white AND the gold heat embossing looks beautiful! What a pretty way to say Happy Birthday!

Thanks, Michele! Loved having you as our guest designer for this one. Your card was amazing!
DeleteI'm glad that you enjoyed working with this recipe. When I sat down to it, I began to wonder what planet I'd been on when I came up with the idea but in the end, really loved it. I like that peekaboo nature of this card and the exuberant swoosh of the bow adds a real sense of fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jan! Your comments are always so appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the pink on this card Heather and the combination of the gingham background and that bow is fabulous! I really like the white heat embossed version - it gives the flowers a delicate touch. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteGosh that's so pretty Heather and your bow is just fabulous!
