Just a Note of Thanks

Sometimes, some of the most stamping fun I have is making these little 3" x 3" mini cards, which I often do for customer thank yous! They are quick and cute for sure, but you can really exercise some creativity to get a pleasing image on a tiny space without a lot of room for gobs of technique and embellishment. Then there is the pleasure of being able to use up bits and pieces of materials that would otherwise go to waste! I combined some pretty diverse elements to make these little 'notes' of thanks (did you see what I did there?) for my last order to go out before Christmas! I wanted them to be elegant and glitzy but not too much work as I prepare to take a bit of a break for about a week surrounding Christmas. Here's a closer look:

  • I made use of bits of leftover Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background. I've loved having this sheet music DSP for Christmas cards this year and I hope this is not the only time we'll have some. However, we always have the Sheet Music Background stamp to fall back on, I guess.
  • I love the Black, White and Gold colour palette. So elegant, especially when you throw in some Glimmer Paper! I die cut the treble clefs from the Musical Instruments Framelits from Gold Glimmer Paper backed with Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to turn them into stickers, easy to adhere.
  • I'm sure you've noticed the little leaf cut outs behind the treble clefs. Those were punched from Whisper White paper with a Martha Stewart leaf punch that I've treasured for awhile. It creates a texture that you can't get from anything else.
  • The sentiment is from the Floral Phrases stamp set, but I've cropped off the ending "to you..." so it would fit on this small space.
I hope you're almost ready for the big day and starting to take some time to enjoy yourselves! What will Santa be bringing you this year? Let me know what you asked him for in the comments below. And don't forget about the year end sale and the Stamparatus Reservation Window still open.

Merry Christmas!

Musical Season and Musical Instruments Framelits

The Musical Season Bundle caught my eye early on when I was first looking through the Holiday Catalogue. I have often wanted a musical themed set since so many of my family are musical and with that whole set of Merry Music Designer Series Paper plus a Sheet Music background stamp, it is really great to have some stamps and dies that will go along with them.

The card I want to show you today is another Quick & Cute sample. Easy to make and easy on the eyes. This would be a great idea for mass producing your Christmas cards this year - very few layers and cuts and the dies you use are all framelits, so you can die cut two at a time if you want to save time. If you don't like bows you can just tie tiny knots instead and it would be fast and easy to prepare and assemble this card.

  • The colour scheme of Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, White, Soft Sky and Silver is great for holiday cards without the traditional red & green!
  • The Designer Series Paper is from the Merry Music set. I love that it comes in the black on white and white on black formats.
  • I used the Layering Oval Framelits for the scallop oval in Silver Glimmer Paper and the smaller oval in Soft Sky and the Musical Intruments Framelits to die cut the little drummer boy from Basic Black cardstock. Isn't he the cutest thing??
  • The sentiment is from the Musical Season stamp set and it's becoming one of my favourites from the catalogue as I've used it numerous times already.

Holiday Sampler with Merry Little Christmas Suite and More

My Holiday Catalogue Launch is coming up this Saturday, and I've been hard at work on my displays and decor. For the last two days, I've been focusing on the Merry Little Christmas Suite and here are a few shots of what I've done so far. The cards are pretty much total CASES of the catalogue, but so much fun to do:

I still have customers talking about the Summer Sampler class we did and wanting a fall and Christmas version of it, so today I worked on a Holiday Sampler, with the Merry Little Christmas Suite colour scheme and products, but bringing several other Holiday products in as well.

  • I have to apologize for the photography. It's so difficult with the sampler in the glassed shadow box frame. Also you don't get the full effect of the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper either.
  • The colours used are Basic Black, Whisper White, Old Olive, Silver and a touch of Lemon Lime Twist.

  • The layout for the sampler is the same as the layout for the Summer Sampler that I did here.

Have you booked your party to take advantage of this marvellous promotion yet? September is almost over and I'm booking up fast for October. My first host won the Merry Patterns stamp set easily along with her regular Stampin' Rewards and was thrilled! It won't be difficult for you either and I can help you be successful with some easy tips for reaching your goal! But you won't win if you don't book! Give me a shout today!
