I should never, ever look at Pinterest! When I see something I love, I just can't get it out of my head and nothing else looks good after I see it. That was the case with Tammy Wilson's card with the Sweet Citrus Bundle! I was dying to play with that bundle and when I saw her card, nothing else would do, including almost all the elements she used! I did change a few things but not much so thanks to Tammy, I used this card for my team's Shoebox Swap that we did yesterday. We had a lot of fun doing it! We like to get together in person at least once a quarter, and because of the new mini catalogue, I suggested that each of us design a card and cut enough material so that the rest could each make one and include it, along with the stamps and equipment needed, in a shoebox sized bin and bring it to the meeting. At the meeting, as we discussed business and chatted, we swapped all the boxes and ended up making 4 other cards besides our own. I used Basic White Thick cardstock for the card base, then embossed a piece of regular Basic White cut at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and mounted it on the card front.
I cut a 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" piece of Basic White and ran it through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the second largest Stitched with Whimsey Die. Then I blended some Polished Pink ink on it using a blending brush and adhered it to the card front.
On a quarter sheet of Basic White, I blended Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo, again using blending brushes. I made sure to have darker and lighter areas, areas where the two colours blended together, and some small areas I left white.
Using the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder with the Dies, I placed the cardstock inside, adjusting it so that the paper lay in the best places, then ran it through the Cut & Emboss.
I stamped 3 sets of leaves in Granny Apple Green and die cut them with the coordinating dies.
I arranged the embossed and cut pieces on the card front as shown and adhered them using glue dots and dimensionals.
The sentiment from the stamp set is stamped with Memento ink on a 1/2" wide strip and then cut into 3 pieces which are then adhered to the card front as shown.
The last step is to add embellishments. I used Opal Rounds and Rhinestones.

For my up line, Desiree's, team meeting this month, we are doing a shoebox swap. That's where each attendee designs a card and cuts enough projects for everyone attending and includes all the tools and supplies to make it in a shoe box. Then, when we get together, we pass the shoeboxes around and make one of each card. We do that when a new catalogue comes out and it gives us some ideas for classes for the coming weeks. The cards have to be simple enough not to need a lot of explanation and for a fairly new stamper to be able to do. My bundle to work with was the At Home with You Bundle, which consists of the At Home with You stamp set and the At Home Framelit Dies.
This is such a fun and versatile set to play with. The main feature is a door, with a couple of framelits that die cut the outline and cut it so that it opens. The rest are all seasonal accessories and sentiments that will keep you using this set all year long!
On the Early Espresso cardbase, I added a panel of Crumb Cake that I embossed using the Brick Wall embossing folder and sponged it lightly with Early Espresso ink that was already on the sponge. I didn't want to make it too dark, just accentuate the brick pattern.
I stamped the door on Real Red cardstock using Early Espresso ink and die cut it with the At Home Framelits. At the same time, I die cut the outline of the door from Very Vanilla cardstock as well, and trimmed down the sides very slightly so that it wouldn't show around the edges of the red. I die cut the little panes of glass at the top of the door too!
I stamped the inside of the door with the sentiment: For Your Amazing Hospitality using Real Red ink, making sure not to stamp where it would show through the windows.
I stamped the other accessories: the mat, the sign, the lanterns - in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla cardstock and die cut them. I added them with Glue Dots for the most part, except for the lanterns which I used Stampin' Dimensionals for!
The thin red strip of paper at the bottom of the door is almost impossible to glue down as it's so narrow. I just cut it out and glued the welcome mat over the area it should be in and it looks fine.
I have been feverishly coming up with decor and games for my Catalogue Launch this Saturday and, while watching TV at night, I made these two giant flowers using our new In Colours, Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst cardstock. I got the instructions from Wendy Cranford's blog and through her, the site where you can download the templates: Any One Can Craft. It takes time, patience and a lot of cardstock, but it's not hard to do!
These make a real statement all right!

A team of us are doing a shoebox swap tonight using the new stamp sets from the 2015 Occasions Catalogue! A shoebox swap is where each person attending designs a card using the stamp set that they sign up for and put together the paper and supplies needed for everyone else at the swap to make the card and put them all in a shoebox, with the sample. The shoeboxes are passed from person to person and you put together one card from each shoebox and go home with quite a few samples to use!
It might not be a surprise to you to learn that I chose Guy Greetings as my stamp set, but after having made a few different designs using this set, I suddenly had a hard time coming up with an original design. I looked around for some inspiration, and suddenly found it in the shape of the latest Pals Paper Arts Challenge Sketch:
I could just see the collection of old hats in that little shape in the middle of the card! Thank you Kerry Willard Bray and Pals Paper Arts!
The background Designer Series Paper is also from Adventure Bound and that indigo tweed was well "suited" (get it?) to the hats images.
The Natural 5/8" Chevron Ribbon is a good choice for the horizontal element in the sketch and it works well with the other colours.
The three little flags were punched using the Banner Punch from 3 different designs of Adventure Bound DSP. The one in the middle is longer than the punched image and so I cut a strip of DSP to just slightly less than 5/8" in width and passed one end from the top of the punch through the flag end of the punch. When I pressed the punch only the flag end was punched out and the other end could be kept longer and trimmed to the length wanted.
The shape in the middle is die cut using one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits. I cut one on the Sahara Sand cardstock that had the images heat embossed and stamped, and one from Early Espresso cardstock. I trimmed off the knobs on the ends of the Early Espresso shape and cut it in half to glue onto the Sahara Sand shape, extending beyond the top and bottom about 1/4" to make a matte for it.
When you attach the flags to the image panel, add the longest in the middle first then add the two shorter ones very slightly behind it on either side.
Finish it off with two Early Espresso Candy Dots from the Neutrals Collection and mount the whole thing on an Early Espresso Base.
