A Little Love for Retiring Jar of Love

One stamp set I've had for about three years, but just hasn't had enough love over those years, is Jar of Love, not because I didn't love it, but because there are just not enough hours in the day and days in the year for all the sets I have loved! But I won't let it retire without one more chance to showcase how versatile and amazing it is! You can do so many crazy things with it! Just Google it and you'll see!

But since it's newsletter time again, I thought I would use this as my free photo tutorial for my newsletter subscribers this month.  Here is a closer look at what you will be able to create with this tutorial:

  • The main feature is a clear mason jar stamped on and die cut from a window sheet and matched exactly to a stamped image on some Shimmery White cardstock that has a watercoloured background.
  • While the sides of the clear jar are adhered to the cardstock the top is left open so that you can stamp and die cut, using the Everyday Jars Dies, flowers, grass and foliage and tuck it into the jar through the opening in the top to create a bouquet. I actually felt like I was doing some flower arranging!
  • The colour scheme is based on the Designer Series Paper that I used for the background panels, Twinkle, Twinkle, which turned out to be my favourite DSP in the Annual Catalogue this past year. I love the designs and colours, and the small images make such good backgrounds! Here I used Gray Granite, Night of Navy, Pool Party, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam.
If you would like to get the free photo tutorial for making this card, all you have to do is to sign up to receive my free monthly newsletter. I do respect your email, and try hard to only send one email a month, unless there is a big promotion that I think you will want to know about that I didn't know about in time for the newsletter! The Sweetest Thing for Kylie's Demonstrator Training March Blog Hop

Thanks for stopping by!  Today I'm participating in Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.  I'm so excited to be part of this training program and happy to participate in my very first Blog Hop with them! The purpose of the group is for the group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators that are part of the program...to share ideas and to learn from each other...to help us in our Stampin' Up! Business.

Today you will "hop around the world" and check out the amazing projects created by these very talented demonstrators.  You are currently visiting Heather Cooper from British Columbia, Canada.  Please take some time to check out all of the blogs on the list below!

I'm using the Sweetest Thing stamp set for my sample today. I've paired it up with some Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper. Here's a closer look:

  • This is not a difficult design. It would be perfect for a casual stamper to complete. If you took away the Stampin' Blends colouring and the fancy ends to the sentiment, and pre-die cut the panels with the focal point and it's backing, then a novice stamper could do it as well.
  • I love how the candy jar and the background Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper go so well together. It gives the whole card a whimsical look to it.
  • I stamped the jar in Memento Tuxedo Black ink as well as the gum drops inside it. I then used various colours of Stampin' Blends to colour it in. The jar itself is coloured with Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends marker. The gumdrops inside are shades of Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends.
  • It's die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and backed with a Scallop Oval in Pool Party, die cut with the Laying Ovals Framelits.
  • The sentiment is also from the Sweetest Things stamp set and it's stamped on a Whisper White strip and the fancy ends are punched using parts of the Everyday Label Punch.
  • The card base and the sentiment backing are Soft Sea Foam.

Painted Seasons for Technique Night Classes

In my up-coming Technique Night classes this week, we are talking about how to use our precious Designer Series Paper, (known hereafter in this post as DSP), without wasting it. In order to do that, I wanted to show people how best to cut up a 12" x 12" piece of paper to get a lot of cards that show off the beauty of the DSP. I also want to use the amazing Painted Seasons stamp set as often as I can before Sale-A-Bration is over, because it has the most beautiful images, and the easiest DistINKtive set to stamp that I've found yet.

Here's one of the three samples for the class:

Don't wait too much longer to earn your Sale-A-Bration Rewards. March is almost half over and that means Sale-A-Bration is almost at an end. Have you taken full advantage of the benefits open to you? Remember the three key words: SHOP!  HOST!! JOIN!!

Message me if you have any questions about Sale-A-Bration.
