Festive Flower Builder Punch and a Colour Challenge from the Pals

It's time I did a project for you that's not a card and I had not yet used my new Festive Flower Builder Punch from the Holiday catalogue, so that is the direction I thought I would go in. I wanted the flower to be a topper on a gift box, so I also dug out my Gift Box Punch Board, which I have not used in a long while and then all I needed was the Reason for the Season Photopolymer stamp set and a colour combo to use. The latter problem was solved by the Pals Paper Arts Challenge this week, a colour challenge:

What a pretty combination this is! So with inspiration, tools, colours and everything else I needed, I got to work and produced this:

  • I used a piece of 12" x 12" Pool Party cardstock with the Gift Box Punch Board to create the largest box, dimensions 4" x 4" x 4". It's easy when you follow the directions carefully on the board. I used some Pool Party striped paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack to decorate the sides of the box.
  • I know the Festive Flower Builder Punch is primarily for creating poinsettias for Christmas decor and cards, but I thought I could make any colour of flower that I wanted with it. You'll notice that each petal or leave is stamped in the same colour as the cardstock, and the stamps come from the Reason for the Season stamp set, also from the Holiday Catalogue, In fact, you can purchase it together with the Festive Flower Builder Punch in a bundle and save 15% over the cost of purchasing them separately.
  • I assembled the flower on a 2" Circle covered with Fast Fuse adhesive, (punched by the 2" Circle Punch). It allowed me to create a larger flower and to space the leaves and petals evenly. There are 3 sizes of petals/leaves with a stamp to match each one.
  • Did you know you could curl the Cotton Ribbon? It curls beautifully using the Craft Scissors. I tried to curl the Silver 1/8" Ribbon as well, but it is much harder to do and you are more likely to shred it rather than curl it. Even at that I managed to get three or four curls out of it, just don't ask me how many I shredded. I also added some Venetian Crochet trim for the look I wanted.

I have updated my inventory with retired products from last year's Holiday Catalogue, so click on the button above to take you to the page! Message me if there is anything you are interested in.
