Quick post today, as I'm deep into preparation for my Catalogue Launch and Rubber Rummage Sale on Saturday! I'm excited about it because I have a great idea for a new game. Since the theme is daisies, this one involves pulling the petals off of paper daisies a la "He loves me, He loves me not", only there will be numbers on the back of the petals corresponding to what you could win...or not win, depending on which is the last petal! I was going to have a bakery make and decorate sugar cookies like daisies for me, but they phoned today to say that they didn't have any yellow food colouring so they couldn't do it. It was too late to get any other bakery to do it (BOO!), so I'm back to baking and decorating cupcakes - NOT my forte! Oh, well!
Of course, I need a couple of Make & Takes using the new catalogue products and here is what I came up with:
- The first one, on the left, focuses on the new In Colours of Berry Burst and Fresh Fig and the new stamp set, Floral Statements. I tried it stamped on Berry Burst in Basic Black Archival ink and that is great for more beginner stampers. This version uses some colouring techniques with Stampin' Write markers and a Blender Pen. I LOVE the new Shimmer Ribbon!! You can see it here in Black.
- The second card, the one on the right, is actually CASE'd from one in the new catalogue and features the new stamp set, Lemon Zest! It also uses the Lemon Builder Punch, which is why it's idea for a Make & Take for a Catalogue Launch. Not a lot of complicated Big Shot work to do, other than to emboss the background panel using the new Layered Leaves Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Isn't that adorable?
I made In Colour Book Marks for everyone, with a detailed index on the reverse side, and then I had fun creating these "New Catalogue Survival Kits" :
- They feature the new Wood Crate Framelits as well as the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. Before folding and assembling the little crates, I embossed this design from the Big On Birthdays stamp set in White Stampin' Emboss Powder. The list of contents I actually downloaded from the Stampin' Up! Demo site, and here's what they have inside:
I still have a lot of work to do, and since people will be making these cards at the launch I don't want to give too many directions here!
I hope you have an awesome weekend! I know I will!
