The Petal Passion Designer Series Paper is awesome in black and white and there are many occasions where it is perfect to leave it as such, but the cool thing about this paper is that you can make it as versatile as you want by adding your own colour to it. You can do that in many ways: Brayer, sponge, watercolour, but today I want to show you perhaps the best way of adding colour - the Stampin' Blends Markers! This DSP provides the perfect palette for the use of our alcohol markers and you can really get some spectacular results.
Here's a card I completed to showcase the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper at my recent Occasions Catalogue Launch this past weekend!
- The large flower sizes on this design makes it easy to apply the colour using the Stampin' Blends Markers, because you are filling large spaces.
- The shading on the images lets you know where to use the darker shade of the colour of the Stampin' Blends markers. I always fill in the space using the lighter colour, then add the darker shade to the areas that would be darker and go over it all again with the lighter colour to blend in the edges and soften them. Stampin' Blends fill in the area with no stroke marks and you can blend the shades seamlessly on regular Whisper White cardstock.
- For these designs I used the shades of Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive.
- The sentiment is from the Petal Palette stamp set stamped in Rich Razzleberry and I used some of the Fresh Fig Finely Woven Ribbon along with the new 1/4" Organza Ribbon as an accent.
- The Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circles Framelits die cut the sentiment and its backing.
There are 14 colours of the new Stampin' Blends, 12 of them in a Light shade and a Dark shade. You can buy them singly, in the packs of two with their colour mate, or as a complete set. I'm thinking of starting a Stampin' Blends Club, where we get a group of people together who would like to purchase the Stampin' Blends and divide the purchase price into as many parts as we have members in the club. Each month everyone pays that partial payment, and one person a month would get the whole set of Stampin' Blends. At the end of the club, each person would have received a set of the Stampin' Blends, but paid for it in easy installments. People would receive their full set in the order that they signed up for the club.
If we had 6 people in the club, for example, we would divide the price of the set into 6 installments and each month all club members would pay the installment. This would give us enough to purchase 1 set which would go to the first member who signed up. By the end of -six months, each person would have their full set of Stampin' Blends, but even if you got your set first, you would continue to pay installments for the entire period so that others could get their sets, too.
Let me know if you would be interested in a club like this.
