I'm always excited when I get a chance to play along with my favourite challenge blog, The Paper Players, and this week they have a sketch challenge going on, created by Anne Schach:
I wanted to do some watercolouring this past afternoon, so I dug out a favourite fall stamp set that I haven't played with for a long time and had an enjoyable hour of creating and watercolouring. Here is what transpired:
- I wanted to use warm, fall colours, but I didn't want to watercolour the milk can with Cajun Craze or an orange, so I decided to try out Terracotta Tile. I was surprised at how pink or red it was, but I do like the warmth it generates.
- I teamed up the Terracotta Tile with Crumb Cake, Champagne Foil, and Cajun Craze. The jury is still out on the combination.
- I watercoloured a background using a combo of Grapefruit Grove, Crumb Cake and Champagne Glimmer Paint on Shimmery White cardstock. I fussy cut the milk can and the floral arrangement after they had been painted and added them to the background, popping up the milk can on dimensionals.
- The back ground is Champagne Foil, embossed with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. The horizontal strip of paper is from the Come to Gather DSP. The small element in the corner is from the same stamp set, fussy cut and embellished with a twine bow.
- The sentiment is likewise from the Country Home stamp set.
