My middle daughter and her family live up in what we call the north, but is actually only halfway up British Columbia, even though it takes us a good 10 - 11 hours to get there by car. It is significantly colder there in the winter, however, and in the summer, they have daylight much later than we do, so you know that you are at a higher latitude. My son-in-law is an avid mountain biker and it's his birthday today! I'm so glad that we have the Enjoy Life stamp set, just for that reason. It's the only halfway realistic mountain bike image we have, although David would be the first to point out that the rider is not wearing a helmet!
Anyway, using fall colours in the background, I sponged the sky and then stamped the silhouetted grasses and bicyclist in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- My hubby noticed that the bike was not right on level with the grasses and I guess I was thinking that the grass was beside the road and not "the" road, but I see how it looks now, so I told him the guy had just done a jump and was getting some air time! lol
- The background paper is from the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. I added some Braided Linen Trim around it, then tied another small piece of the trim to it. I used one of the Bird Ballad trinkets, added with a glue dot to add some warm interest and balance to the layout.
- The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set. I used the Stamparatus to stamp the grasses, the cyclist and the sentiment to make sure I got solid images. I had to move the grasses on the plate because it didn't work to just shift the plate in the hinges.
- The colours in the sponged area are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Terracotta Tile and Cajun Craze.
Hope you enjoyed this sample! Have a great weekend and Happy Stampin'!
