No Cut Folded Box with Hand-Penned Paper for New At SU July Blog Hop

new at su blog hop banner 1

Welcome to our July NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing creative ways of using the Designer Series Paper that is on sale this month from the 2021/22 Annual Catalogue. I am going to share a No Cut Folded Box made from a piece of 12" x 12" Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, which is one of the series that is on sale this month in the Designer Series Paper Sale Promotion.

One of the coolest features about these boxes is that you can partially make them up, then store them flat in a drawer or on a shelf until you need to use one, then they just open right up, you pop in the small gift and you fold over the flaps and slide on the belly band! Done! The Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper looks great for this purpose, especially on the sides with the graphic designs like the polka dots on the Pale Papaya or the leaf sprigs on the Highland Heather as I have used here.

  • I used two different sheets of the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper to make two of this boxes. The method for making them is best shown in the video tutorial below:

  • I used a couple of different methods to decorate the boxes. On one I used the Peony Dies to create a Peony flower from Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss cardstock and I used Just Jade and Shaded Spruce for the leaves.
  • On the other I added both the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon and the Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon around the belly band, then combined the two ribbons to make a double finger bow to add to the top.

Here's how they go together and what they look like inside!
