Pansy Patch Bundle with Corner Flip Fun Fold for New At SU Blog Hop

                           

Welcome to our May NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who are Hoppin’ with creative paper crafting ideas to share with you. Today we are showcasing the 2021/23 New In Colours and some Fun Folds! I am going to share with you Pale Papaya with a splash of Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent and I will show you the Corner Flip Fun Fold. I'll be using the new Pansy Patch Bundle!

• To do this Corner Flip fold, you first need to glue on your Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper background to the card base. Then you will make two cuts on your Paper Trimmer: 1. with the left edge of the long side of the card base at the 3" line, cut from 2 1/2" to 4 7/8", using the ruler on the blade guide to help you  and 2. after turning the card base 90 degrees clockwise, align the long side with the 3" mark, and cut from 3" to 5/8", again using the ruler on the blade guide to help you.

• Push the bottom corner of the V you've created toward the back and pull the top corner down to the bottom left and you will have the Corner Flip Fun Fold. Secure it with a glue dot. To see a video tutorial on how to do this, click HERE.

• Decorate the inside, which shows through with a piece of Calypso Coral, 5 1/4" x 4" and a piece of Basic White 5" x 3 3/4".
• Using the Stitched So Sweetly scalloped rectangle dies I die cut a square that fit the 3" square formed by the flipped corner by die cutting the rectangle and then turning the die 90 degrees and die cutting again. I cut a 2 1/2" square of Basic White to fit inside it. 
• The sentiment, from Celebrate Sunflowers, is stamped in Pale Papaya on Basic White and die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The Calypso Coral backing is one of the Stitched So Sweetly Scalloped Rectangle dies manipulated to make longer.
• The pansies are die cut with the Pansy Dies from Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.

Pansy Patch for As You See It Sketch Challenge #248

 

I finally got a chance to play with my 2021/22 Annual Catalogue preorder products over the last few days and I'll say a couple of things right off the bat:

1. I just LOVE the new In Colours - ALL of them! I haven't been able to say that in a few years! Can you guess my new favourite?

2. The *Pansy Petals Suite is absolutely amazing! DSP, stamps and dies are to die for!!

The first card I needed to make was my Design Team sample for As You See It Challenge #248. It's a sketch challenge created by team member Jan and it's a perfect sketch for a challenge, giving lots of room for creative ideas:

*These are new products from the 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue which you will be able purchase starting on May 4, 2021.

I thought I would created a background on the inner rectangle by using the blending brushes with *Soft Succulent and *Evening Evergreen, two of the new In Colours, and adding some water droplets, then I would stamp some 3 or 4 stamp pansies on a rough circle of Basic White cardstock and fussy cut it out for the top of the rectangle and add a sentiment at the bottom. Here's how it turned out:

• I love how well all the new In Colours coordinate between themselves and with other members of the existing colour families, too. I have a *Pale Papaya card base and I use some *Soft Succulent gingham from the *Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper as the main background and I love how well they go together!
• The two large pansies take four steps to stamp. For the purple pansy, I used (from lightest to darkest) *Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss. On the orange one I used *Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze.
• For the small pink pansy, which takes 3 steps to stamp, I used Blushing Bride, *Polished Pink and Magenta Madness. All 3 pansies have a *2021-2023 In Colour Jewel in Pale Papaya in the center and there are two Soft Succulent ones on the sentiment.
• The leaves are two step stamping and are *Soft Succulent and *Evening Evergreen. The stem for the bud I had to do some mirror stamping for using the Silicone Craft Mat.
• The sentiment is also from the *Pansy Patch stamp set and is stamped on a 1/2" wide strip of Basic White card stock.
